Excellent cakes & deserts but disgraceful table service spoils the experience. Six of us were squeezed around two small tables, we had booked in a week before. We ordered over $200 of deserts that could not be fitted on the table, wait staff kept pilled up plates on top of each other & where rude. We were told to leave within 25 minutes, very rude wait staff. Recommend take away, better off eating outside on the ground or in your car.

Hi Owner, The Tables are too small for your seating numbers.

The tables are too small for more than 2 people if you order any quantity of food & drinks. We had 6 people around 2 tables, we felt squeezed in, there was literally not enough room for the large quantity we ordered. We had to place our personal things on the floor to try & fit the plates on the table. It was blindingly obvious as the food & drinks started coming out that there would not be enough room. Any place with good table service would have realised immediately we placed our orders & made the table adjustment without fuss.

Or better yet only seat 2 people on all tables, all your customers would appreciate this space.

Three plates in a pile with cutlery on top were put in front of me & remained so because there was no room on the table to spread them out!

The waitress never asked if we would like some plates separate, if we had it would have only taken even longer & some of us would have been just watching others eat at different times.

I did ask the waitress 3 times politely for an extra table as it was blindingly obvious that there would not be enough room. No conversation was had with the waitress just refusal each time. When you then came over & begrudgingly offered an additional table for just 25 minutes, what did you expect we would do after 25 minutes? Put the plates on the floor, or maybe jump up & run out? That is not customer service, some would call it rude!

The reason I asked for another table other than it was essential, ¾ of the tables where not being used at the beginning & at least 1/3 still not being used when we left! Amazingly the extra table that was reluctantly given was available for more than 25 minutes!

It is reasonable to allow longer time frames for large groups who order larger quantities, especially with such an extensive & intricate array of deserts.

Your missing the point its not about $ value, its about quantity of an order & the number of plates that need to be fitted on a table. You need to re-adjust your table size expectations, not all customers will order 1 coffee & 1 share plate.

2 people per table would be just right showing you value your customers giving them enough room, rather than squeezing in the maximum number of people possible. Better to have happy repeat customers that spread good reviews rather than unhappy customers that spread bad reviews.

Also the stools are very uncomfortable for most people, everybody should have a chair.

I did not share this review to have an argument, this is the review of your customers experience. If you as the owner can not accept the need to change & improve in the area of customer service I would suggest employing...

Food was absolutely awesome could not fault it. However the service from the staff was appalling! They were so rude. We made a booking and had eaten half of our desert and half our beverages when we were told, (without warning!) we must leave immediately as there was another booking that required our table when there we at least 6 other empty tables around us without customers and without a reservation. we were told that they will put our meals and drinks in takeaway containers and be sent on our way. my poor grandmother scoffed her meal and beverage to the point she was almost sick and the girl would not leave our side until we were done ! Also the waitresses do not clean tables as they walk around so your table ends up cluttered with used cups and plates. disgusted. I do not recommend and will not be returning! Their staff is not worth the food.

My response to below: Sabor Dessert Bar we did not arrive late we actually arrived 15 minutes early! And yes your staff said exactly that to my poor grandmother ! We were in shock as to how rude the girl was ! There is a much better way to talk to your customers. For example: 15 minutes before your time is up "excuse me i just came over to let the table know that there is only 15minutes left of your time allocation if you could finish up by then that would be lovely or we could pop your leftovers into a takeaway bag if you would prefer?". And if all your tables were reserved for other booking where was their reserved sign like the one on our table! Also as for the used dishes we had ordered multiple drinks and deserts and it is not our fault that your staff took so long we couldn't consume them all in a 20minute window ! This was meant to be a special day out for my grandmother! I just wish I had read all the previous reviews about your staff behaviour before I booked a table. You clearly have a rude team that have had many issues before. I'd hate to see how the cafe even functions if it is currently only at...

Lost Potential It begins with us booking a month and a half advance for father’s day, so that we could beat the other reservations and stay on top of it. We decided we wanted the window seat, to have the best of the hunter valley view. The lady working there said that they could not guarantee that we could have a window table for father’s day… isn’t the point of booking before hand to guarantee a spot? We tried to contact them to confirm our booking on the week leading up to father’s day. no one picked up. I called about six times, no. one. picked. up. When we finally got through and they picked up, it was already father’s day and they told us we did not have a booking… what??? how does this even happen.

They were fortunately apologetic and said “come in and we will work something out for you”… we appreciated that. When we arrived we had the choice of sitting inside, right near the queue or outside… we decided on sitting outside. When we reached outside, it was a small deck area fit with a dog bowl and a view into the public bathroom. Just a suggestion, i think it would be good to put up some sort of privacy screen… it was quite awkward making eye contact with people coming out of the bathroom. Also, the whole time the table we initially wanted (by the window) was reserved and no one showed… we were there for an hour.

Now, our order. Basically it was overpriced for what you get. No real problems with the food, just the pricing could be more reasonable… food was nice but for what you’d pay, it’d be better to put more effort into the dish. Side note- Coffee was cold, nearly could’ve been sent back but was excused because the staff looked already busy. We also ordered a milkshake and had to go ask for it because they forgot.

It was evident that management needs to make a few tweaks, it’s a beautiful location and i think if there were some small changes with organisation and practicality, it would be a much more...

My partner and I went to Sabor for desserts and coffees on a Saturday afternoon. We had a good experience although I think there are a couple of improvements which could've made it better. Due to the COVID19 situation the seating spaces are limited, so we made sure to book prior to our visit. When we got to the restaurant, there was a line at the door mixed with people who were waiting to be seated and people who were ordering take away. We had to wait on the line for about 15mins to get seated and once we were seated we have been told we had to go up to the counter to place our order which had another line mixed with people also ordering take away and dine-in. We jumped on the line straight away as we were deciding what to order from the menu and waited about 25mins to place our order. The menu is great and the food options are amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food and coffees arrived in our table within 10 minutes of ordering which was great. The coffee there wasn't as good as the food, we both ordered piccolos (mine was on almond milk) and I had to ask for it to be replaced with an espresso as the piccolo tasted a bit bitter. We really liked the dessert (I've ordered the brownie fudge) and we would give it another go next time we come up to the Hunter Valley again.

What a delicious place to go after just eating a whole other meal beforehand. This place is absolutely amazing, mixed between the staff and their kindness and the actual food itself wow! The banoffee is absolutely mouthwatering as each bite is a whole assortment of flavour galore as it’s mixed with the banana, cream Oreo and caramel it is by far the nicest combination in desserts I’ve got my hands on. When I’ve gone in and eaten, I got the sorbet which has three scoops of the different sorbet flavours: mango, lemon and raspberry. I’m lost for words at how good this actually is, the lemon is just right between being just the perfect amount of sweetness to not be overpowering. The mango is just your normal typical mango you’d get anywhere but the raspberry…. The raspberry is what you come for and they place it on the bottom because you’re saving the best for last. The raspberry is absolutely delicious as it just sits on your tongue, the sensation is amazing. Next time you come here, get the sorbet! You’ll never regret it and pair it with the pigs wine and you’ll have the best combination at Sabor hands down🙌
