Very disappointed, while the wines are pretty good, if you dare raise any issue you were met with a 'justification' and that you are the only one; this from some staff and the GM directly. I politely raised certain matters directly rather than an online review and was appalled at the responses I received. From their accommodation where the sun beams into the bedroom at 5.30am and directly onto the bed (sorry no restful sleep-in), reason why is that curtains are too expensive and its only for a few weeks of the year??, to the simple request for a box of tissues, advised they were expensive. I was also advised it costs them money to run the accommodation so I got the impression I should be grateful they hosted me. The Spring Splendor event a good idea (been to a few at other wineries) and some good aspects but overall disappointing and unenjoyable, nor was I alone in my experience. Much more but won't waste anymore effort here. Again, as I said in my last email to the GM, not interested in your response as I...

We stopped in to try the wines on the recommendation of our hotel. In addition to wine, they also have several gin offerings and a whiskey. After a short chat with Peter, the host, he shared a number of pours based on our tastes. All the wines here are good. The Calliope Shiraz and Durif are better yet and are solid entries into the premium space.

The selection of gins is rather fun. We liked the muscat gin with ginger ale as a refreshing hot weather drink.

Let's not leave out the fortified wines. Both the muscat and the topaque will not disappoint at whatever level matches your taste. Yet, both are distinctly different and true to their style of production. The frontignac is truly something different and carried off the depth and carry of a rare without the cloying raisin-iness. Make sure to have a taste of this one if you...

The accommodation at Buller Wines is superb. Checking in and out is very easy and the location is fantastic. Close enough to Rutherglen but far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. The views from the rooms are fantastic - straight out onto the vineyard. The room itself is very comfortable with sufficient appliances in the kitchenette (microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and mini bar fridge). It gets pretty cold in the area at night, but the split system and floor heating in the bathroom work very well to ensure you stay warm.

Further, all the wines they produce are already in the room available for purchase, which is great so if you arrive after the cellar door is closed, you have the wines available to you. We had a really great stay and would highly recommend this accommodation to stay in the local area. We hope to...

I had the most incredible experience for my hens day at Buller Wines. The man came and greeted us from the bus, and guided us through to the cellar door. There was x20 of us, and he really made the biggest effort. He told us about all of the wines, made gin pallets for those who wanted gin and then guided us through the distillery. The best experience! Our hens days was the end of November and everyone still talks about Buller wines, we left and continued our wine tour to another winery for lunch and had a very disappointing experience so Buller has taken gold. Added bonus the man had no issues participating in our hens day game and giving us his “phone number” excellent services!

We spent 4 nights at the Buller accom and I can't imagine a better location. As far as the accom they were great, really modern layout, nice linen etc... There's a couple of places they could improve but nothing critical and they took on our feedback really well. The winery itself is so accommodating, and fun. You don't feel pressured to have to buy anything, you can just taste and enjoy their space. Yet their product is so good we organized an entire shipment back to our home in Melbourne. Anyway, great people, great place, fair prices.

So much more than just wine there's something for every alcoholic at Buller Wines! We arrived near the end of the day and the owners were incredibly personable and patient with complimentary tastings. Lots of range in price points. They also offer grazing platters to enjoy on the rear lawn. Buller Winery is a short bike ride from Rutherglen, just 500 metres off the Wine Trail.
