I recently discovered the hidden gem that is Gardner Falls near Maleny, and the experience left me utterly captivated.

Nestled amidst nature's embrace, Gardner Falls offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The journey to the falls is an adventure in itself, with scenic trails that wind through lush greenery, creating a tranquil atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.

Upon reaching the falls, the sight is nothing short of breathtaking. The cascading water, surrounded by the vibrant hues of the Australian bush, creates a picturesque landscape. The natural pool at the base of the falls invites visitors to take a refreshing dip, providing the perfect remedy for a hot day.

The well-maintained facilities and walking tracks make Gardner Falls accessible and enjoyable for visitors of all ages. Whether you're seeking a peaceful picnic spot or a refreshing swim in nature's own pool, Gardner Falls offers an idyllic setting for both locals and tourists alike.

In summary, Gardner Falls is a true haven for nature enthusiasts and those in search of tranquility. A visit to this natural paradise is a must for anyone looking to reconnect with the beauty of...

Great place to visit for literally anyone! Great spot to relax and have a picnic or catch some sun and get out your energy.

Full disclaimer, you’ll probably have to wait your turn if you want to jump off the tall parts on a busy day.

Traffic is painful to get here on a hot day, but 100% worth it. I guess this makes everyone grumpy, so people can get frustrated. But I’ve not encountered anyone rude past the road. As long as you’ve got aircon or a bike, it’s not an issue.

Lovely atmosphere to relax and have a couple beverages, everyone is very respectful and although in the deeper waters it can get busy, you’ll not be bothered if you don’t want to be.

Alternatively, you could do some backflips off the trees into the deeper water below the high rope swing (yes, this was actually going on one time I visited). 2 different rope swings. Teens and over tend to use the big one mostly and I’ve witnessed a 7 y/o use the smaller one.

Kids everywhere on hot days, low risk streams up the top are mostly occupied by little ones during expected times. Plenty of room for parents to get in the...

Visited Gardners Falls around 10:30 am on a weekday and had the place almost entirely to myself. I went for a swim about halfway downstream before the main waterfall with the rope swing. The water was definitely cold—probably around 8–10 degrees—but incredibly refreshing, like a natural ice bath. The peace and quiet made for a really enjoyable experience.

I’ve been here before on a Saturday around midday, and it was a completely different story—packed with people and nowhere to park. I ended up leaving that time, so I’d definitely recommend coming early in the morning or during the week if you’re after a quieter visit.

The surrounding nature is beautiful, and I even spotted a turtle sunbaking on the rocks. No platypus sightings this time, but it’s easy to see why they’d avoid the busier periods. One thing to keep in mind: don’t assume the water is deep everywhere—some parts are surprisingly shallow, even if they don’t look it.

All up, it’s a great spot for a midweek swim and a bit of time in nature—just time your...

A Hidden Gem in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Gardners Falls is an absolute treasure nestled just outside Maleny. The short, easy walk along Obi Obi Creek is perfect for all ages and leads to a stunning waterfall and natural swimming hole. The area is surrounded by lush rainforest, making it an ideal spot for a refreshing dip or a peaceful picnic. The rope swings add a fun touch for the adventurous, and the shallow rock pools are great for kids to splash around safely. Parking is convenient, and the path is well maintained. Just be carefull when walking on the rocks near the falls. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Gardners Falls offers a serene escape into nature. Highly recommended. As always, if you are walking near water with kids, always keep your eyes on them. Also note, we had trouble with Telstra and Optus reception in that area, and could not make any calls. This could be different for other carriers or other phones, but just be wary about that if you chose to go.

This place was lovely, only a very short walk from the car park, which is quite small, and down a few steps. The water was a smidge stinky, but not stinky enough to put us off going for a swim. There’s a cliff you can jump off into the pool. There are signs everywhere saying don’t do it or you’ll die, but some nutters we’re still jumping. I myself have a crippling fear of both heights and death, so I forwent the jumping. If you feel like jumping that’s entirely up to you, I’m not gonna sit here like the jumping police and tell you you can’t jump, I’m just saying there are signs saying don’t jump. I suppose the signs have been put there by the real jumping police, or perhaps just the regular police. To be honest I think jumping or not jumping is a personal choice one has to make and each to their own, live and let live, please yourself.
