So much nature to surround you! It is so interesting and many water features are evident. I would go here again with my family and the nature is what makes it so worth it! There are some overgrown areas but it's soo fun. …More Photo 1 in review by zz shaikh (LayzKitty) Photo 2 in review by zz shaikh (LayzKitty) Photo 3 in review by zz shaikh (LayzKitty) Photo 4 in review by zz shaikh (LayzKitty)+3 Venu Parthiban Local Guide·93 reviews·3409 photos 3 months ago Moderate A beautiful reserve right in the middle of the Hills district of Sydney. The trekking tracks are of moderate to hard difficulty. Most of the tracks are well marked but without a good map one may get confused about the right turn to take. Mostly well marked trails. Easy to follow. Platypus (blue) trail is pretty low intensity - couple of hills, but nothing crazy steep or difficult to get over. Maybe some loose stones, or the odd tree root. Suitable for nearly all ages/abilities.
Yellow and red trails are longer, with one or two points that require a bit of rock scrambling/creek crossing. Maybe not suitable for those with mobility issues, but...

Be warned however that signage is poor, there are several forks, side trails and creek crossings not marked, so be mindful of your bearings and allow extra time for getting lost or retracing steps. Some areas are currently cordoned off for maintenance and the creek is sewage contaminated.
We commenced the walk from Ted Horwood reserve car park on Renown road, again no clear signage to the start of the trail which is near the tennis courts.
No toilets on the trail but available at...
