We were keen to do the the Cape Banks Walking track parked in the carpark near the Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter base. We followed the Cape Banks Firetrail until we reached the start of the Cape Banks Walking Track, passing by Cape Banks Bridge and Cruwee Cove Beach. The Cape Banks Walking track was a pleasant walk with lots of ocean breeze. We exited the track at the intersection of Henry Head Lane and Cape Banks Road, in order to make our way back to the car. We were able to cover 4.7km in 1.25hrs. Definitely recommend it to others! :)

Well signed gently undulating walk that goes through eucalypt woodland and along the coast, passing old gun emplacements. We did the 4km stretch from Congwong Beach to Cape Banks Edge. The track surface varies from soft sand to compacted sand with roots and rocks to boardwalk. The views are spectacular. It’s well worth doing. There is free 4 hour parking but it can be busy on the weekends.

It was a beautiful track along the rocks which took about 20', and can be muddy in some places. The clouds were hiding the sun set. There's even a shipwreck. The return path probably took 10'.

Nice area for a long walk Only hassle is where you park the car and had to walk a long way towards the coast. But good exercise for those that wanted a long walk, even spotted whales.

There are better areas, and this Cape Banks walking track and fire trail is good for hiking or bush walking.

When it gets crowded, it isn't so good. And the people playing golf there all in various areas and different groups, makes people wonder if there's any chance for a golf ball hitting your head 😂 But anyways, it's still a nice area. Those who haven't been, it's worth exploring for...
