It takes about an hour to get here via public transport from the CBD.
One way is to take the light rail L3 to Junior Kingsford (last stop) and then switch to bus 390X. You can drop off at the last stop, where there are some public amenities like eateries, public toilets, etc
A short walk across Congwong Beach will get you to a trail that leads to Little Congwong.
Alternatively, you can also get off one stop before and walk along a nature trail that gets to LCB.
I visited on a weekday afternoon during the first week of January.
LCB is smaller than CB. There were no shaded areas left. The crowd is mainly adults with a mix of genders and ages.
While not being a legal nude beach, people were moving about freely. Some were nude. Some were in their swim suits.
It’ll be a good idea to bring along a beach towel, water, sunblock, hat, sunglasses and if you need shade, maybe a parasol.
Towards the end, there is a rocky area where I could venture a bit further. Again, if you are looking for any private areas, it will depend on the crowd size that day.
From Bare Island nearby, you can actually see both CB and LCB, but it’s far enough away that the naked eye won’t be able to see clearly the people on the beach.
If you are someone who prefers personal space and some privacy, I’ll recommend you to come prepared with the mindset that it may be more crowded that you would like, especially during...
Read moreOverall: Good little beach, with nice sheltered bay, meaning minimal waves. Water is usually relatively clear. Vibe: Very respectful crowd that I've always felt safe around. Small warning: A few blue bottles were in the water and many more washed up on the beach on my last visit. At high tide, sand masses (for putting your towel down and sun bathing etc) are limited, be prepared to climb rocks to keep dry or hang your gear up on branches etc. Popularity: Does get fairly busy on the weekends and attracts a decent, albeit friendly judge free crowd in summer in the late afternoons. Facilities & location: It's about a 15 minutes walk from the car parking area and you go through the Conwong beach first, to get there. There are also buses that frequent the area. Car parking area has week maintained toilets nearby and an array of little cafes and...
Read moreMy favourite Sydney beach. Hidden in the National park and about a 15 min walk from parking. It’s a nudie beach so there’s usually NO CHILDREN which is amazing as I like peace and quiet when I’m on the beach reading a book. The water usually a great temperature to swim in and always nice and clean. Occasionally it can be high tide and you may struggle to find some sand/beach to sit on but overall it’s generally fine. Can get busy during summer, so if you can get public transport you’re better off doing that as parking can be...
