Illawong Falls, also known as Mullet Creek falls, is a three tiered waterfall that has as its most visible part a six metre drop onto a sandy beach. It is a striking waterfall in that the fall itself drops from a very large sandstone outcrop that has quite an impact when you first round the corner and see it. The falls are also easily accessible (a 5 minute drive from Warriewood shopping centre) and are at one end of a delightful forest walk that is of an easy grade. It is a short walk of about 500 metres to the waterfall from the end of Irrawong Road. There had been a dry spell when I was there, so the waterfall wasn't fast flowing. The track beyond the waterfall is a bit of a work out, up lots of steps to the escarpment and finally to Ingleside.
