Lake Toolooma is formed by the railway dam that was built in the 1880s. They used to pump water from here up to Waterfall station to replenish the steam trains. The old steam pump and remnants of the old jetty are still there just off the track. It's a beautiful spot. One of the best times to visit is around sunset because the colours in the western sky can make for really picturesque photos. You need to be reasonably fit to walk in and out of there but it's worth it.
