The council has done an amazing job for this place to be the people's place. Lifeguard in the swimming area, paddle boats hire, plenty of covered areas for families to have picnic and bbq. Amenities are clean and tap water is also available throughout the park etc etc.. I've managed to provide and taught a few kids within our group to learn to paddle boarding safely and kids enjoyed the experience. Sitting, kneeling, standing all within an hour safely. My suggestion is, it'll be wonderful if the council builds a launching pad to have boards and boats launching areas. There was a launching spot for experienced boaters(rowers) but not for beginner-intermediate paddle boarding/canoeing yet. A small shallow flat ramp will provide safety and comfort for kids and families to enjoy the water activities in this wonderful lake. Thank you to the council for all the great work done...

Lake Parramatta is a fantastic spot to spend quality time with family! This place offers a little something for everyone—a true hidden gem in the city.

The hiking track around the lake is perfect for nature lovers, offering scenic views and a peaceful ambiance. The lake itself is ideal for swimming, small boating, and rowing, making it a fun destination for water enthusiasts.

There's a kids' play area to keep the little ones entertained, and the overall scenic beauty is truly stunning. A small restaurant on-site adds convenience, serving as a great spot to grab a bite while soaking in the surroundings.

Whether you visit in the morning for a refreshing start or in the evening for a serene experience, Lake Parramatta delivers a complete package. Highly recommended for families, friends, or anyone looking for a tranquil escape close...

It is a hidden gem, perfect for a peaceful nature escape without leaving the city. The track is well-maintained, offering a scenic 4.2 km loop around the lake with stunning bushland views, wildlife, and plenty of shaded areas. It’s a great spot for walking, jogging, or a relaxed picnic by the water.

The walk is moderately easy, with some gentle inclines and stairs, making it suitable for most fitness levels. There are plenty of benches along the way to stop and enjoy the view. The lake itself is beautiful, and you might even spot some ducks and water dragons along the shore.

Parking can get busy on weekends, so arriving early is a good idea. There are also BBQ facilities, playgrounds, and toilet amenities, making it a great spot for families. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a bit of nature and tranquility in...

Astonishingly beautiful and peaceful. Completed in 1856, the Lake Parramatta reservoir was the first large dam built in Australia. It has few paths for every level of fitness to choose from which I’m listing it below: 1)HERITAGE PATH , Grade 1 – 300m one way 2)ARRUNGA BARDO WALK : Grade 2 – 900m one way 3) RESERVOIR TRACK : Grade 3 – 600m one way 4) LAKE CIRCUIT (all tracks combined): Grade 3 – 4200m loop / 2 hrs Please be aware that the Upper and Lower Hunts Creek Crossings may be impassable during and after light to heavy rain events. Do not use Lake Circuit when water is flowing over stepping stones at creek crossings. Dogs are to be kept on leads at all times and cats are not allowed in the reserve at all. No bicycles are allowed on walking tracks. Swimming is not advised in areas other than visitor hub designated area.
