Turkeys Nest Reserve — Attraction in Sydney

It's a cute, reasonably quiet area that I've been coming to ever since I moved into the area 20yrs ago. Definitely more user friendly now compared to when the dam was empty (though I remember it was pretty fun riding my bike through the empty dam and over makeshift jumps people had made). There's plenty of spots to sit, cute little garden beds, a small playground for young children, a lookout to see over the dam, and access to fresh water for people and pets.

It's a small lake and beautiful walkway surrounding it. Lot many turkeys are playing in the water.. but is really very filthy-- there seems to be no cleaning of this lake. It's little on the hill so going up and down the hill gives you beautiful workout. There is overlooking Blue mountain range. Feels good to be there at the time of sunset. One of the best views for a sunset in all of the Hills District. And for those who don’t like sunsets (are you crazy?) there is also a lovely pond full of ducks and other water fowl. The paths around the pond are paved and the small play structures for the kids are in great condition. I would recommend bringing insect repellent if you’re there in spring time, as there can be swarms (SWARMS!!)...
