The Palm Grove section is named after the Piccabeen Palms that thrive in the area's wet soils. The section includes a 2.5-kilometer circuit walk that takes approximately an hour to complete. The walk begins at either Curtis Road or Palm Grove Avenue, and both locations have limited parking and picnic facilities. The trail winds through a variety of rainforest habitats, from dry ghost gum forest to subtropical fig tree and palm groves. There are some massive trees like strangler figs and ghost gums along the way and some with impressive buttress roots.    Read moreNice and easy walk through subtropical rainforest, not too hot even in summer due to the area being shaded as well as wet and cool. Great amount of amazing flora and fauna. Many palm trees, hence the name, as well as ancient fig trees, staghorns, ferns and moss just to name a few. There are also small streams which you can see from the track. The tracks are easy to follow with signs and markers at intersections. There is little elevation gain so it is not steep. At certain points, there are also large gaps and breaks in the vegetation where you can see out east to the Gold Coast and the Pacific Ocean. The car park is a little small though, with only 3 or so slots, though you can park on the...
Read moreVery peaceful rainforest walk. We really enjoyed the atmosphere whilst listening to the different Birdlife & spotting pademelons. The circuit does appear to require some maintenance. We climbed over a big fallen tree across the path near the end. Planks of wood were placed instead of a bridge in one spot but we went to the left of it. Palm leaves were falling from quite a height today making us very alert! Take extra care walking across the muddy areas and rocky path at times. Water is flowing nicely in sections. Shaded and a nice temperature this Autumn morning. Remember the bug spray. Parking for Palm Grove Circuit has a small carpark to start from with information board. No dogs or...
