This is a great cellar door to visit in a former winery building. It features a period fitout, a museum display area, a lounge, a bar, and plenty of wine for tasting. The vats have been painted to document the move from Prussia to the Barossa, reflecting the new colony and the development of the local wine industry. The radio and archive collection is unique. An absolute gem of a chateau with a lot of wonderful history and facilities, however it's very run down, covered in cobwebs and kitchy artifacts. Definitely not up to the standards of more modern cellar doors near by. It's $5 to sample the products which is waived if you purchase something. I'd love to see what would happen to this place if it was given a healthy makeover and a marketing manager to develop it into an event location. So...
