Wait for it... How to do this for free 👇📍 Three Capes Track (Save for later) 45km 2 - 3 days Many people pay $495 for this incredible experience with a guide and log cabins to stay in... But - there's also a free option for hikers 😉 explained below: It's called the Cape Pillar circuit. Staying 1 to 2 nights at Bare Knoll or Wughalee Campground. Bring everything on your back. Water, food, clothes, all gear etc. You can leave your pack with your tent at camp, to rest your back ;) Information: Park at Fortescue Bay (must pay for parking pass) Sign in using notepad at start of trail Walk Fortescue Bay to Wughalee or Bare Knoll campsite (We stayed Bare Knoll and it was great) You can stay the night or continue on, we continued but don't know if we recommend that cause too many kms in one day 😅 Bare Knoll to Cape Pillar and back Stay the night at camp Walk to Cape Hauy the next day Back to Fortescue Bay. Highly recommend it for a once in a lifetime experience! 👌 Whose done an overnight hike in Tasmania? #tasmania #threecapestrack #threecapes #capepillar #capehauy #capehauytrack #capepillartrack #hikingtasmania #hiketasmania #hiketheworld #hikingaustralia #australiahikes #visittasmania #seetasmania

I was not sure what to expect, people told me the Three Capes Track accomodation was good, but Surveyors on the first day was a real surprise. First, the hub, bunkhouses and facilites are large, spacious and well planned. No sense at all of overcrowding with plenty of options to either join in with fellow hikers or chill out on your own. Magic view from hub deck looking west to Cape Raoul. Double bunks are sturdy, with large thick mattresses, plenty of space to store gear and hang things up. Multiple cook tops in the kitchens, all utensils provided with exception of knives and scissors. The hub also includes books, games, and the ranger gives a briefing around dinner time outlining what to expect the next day. Toilets are in a separate building, so some walking between bunk room and toilets/ wash basins. All the buildings are finished in natural wood with window screens so a little gloomy inside even during the day, a head lamp is need (and bring good ear plugs). All up, very impressive.

The first night at Surveyors was the perfect start to the Three Capes Track! The cabin was comfortable (accommodating 4 persons per cabin), and the views from the deck were simply breathtaking. Watching the sunset over the ocean was a truly magical experience. It was amazing to have such a well-equipped and cozy place to relax after a day of hiking. There are cooking facilities, BBQs and lots of games and books to keep you busy and social with other hikers!

Do it ! You need to experience the trip to the first stop of the 3 Capes Track and be rewarded with the amazing deck at Surveyors Hut, looking out toward what i imagine is one of the three 'capes', as we only experienced walking on two. All three camps are of high quality, though there is only a shower on night2. Practically glamping. Suggest you take a wine for sunset at...
