Great beach, shallow and very clear water, great for kids and amazing that you can bring dogs.

There is a bit of rocky hike up and over the headland but if you have a moderate level of fitness it's fine.

You can also make your way round Long Beach which is beautiful also and both are great options for snorkelling.

If you make it round to Long Beach you can also cut through about half way down and follow the airstrip back to where the ferries arrive, it makes a nice loop and saves having to back up and over...

The beach was nice but not as pretty as the others when we were there, maybe the tide was out? The walk down there was dreadful, it’s extremely steep and involves climbing over big rocks and tree roots. Zero signs to help you find the trail and several times we encountered a t junction and had to guess which way to go. Not worth it, Long Beach is a longer walk but much more straightforward and a proper trail plus the beach is more beautiful there. Or stay at the beaches around the village centre, they are...

PSA: Hike to beach is not beginner friendly!! Extremely high elevation with many loose rocks on the path, we slipped on the way many times. Reef was too far to reach to snorkel :( overall...

Amazing location, would recommend spending at least 3 months on keppel island to get the full experience and defiantly check out monkey beach. There’s also a bloke named James that makes a mad cup of coffee over at Putney beach who is a hoot to have a chat with.

We love the location as it has a very white sand, beautiful anchorage and great snorkelling Reef... marine life is abundant. Turtles, puffer fishes, epaulette sharks, rays at the beach and the kudzu goes on and on.
