Quiet Freecamp in a beaut river setting. Great facilities including free electric bbq undercover picnic table. Toilets cleaned daily. Pet friendly. Kitchen sink attached to outside wall of ablutions. Close to town. Small Foodworks, butcher, pubs, post office. Also free parking in town suited to bigger rigs. Petrie Park really only suitable for campervans small to medium. Big rigs would find it difficult to manoeuvre in the areas where camping is permitted. My only complaint was about the couple who camped in JUCY Rental and left a small mountain of rubbish behind plus the stench of urine. Bins and toilets less than 30 metres away from where the pigs were camped. I recorded the JUCY van rego. They're in for a surprise from the...

I recently stayed anlt this spot for 48 hours which is the max stay as its a rest stop over, it fills quite quickly so be prepared to get there early or take your luck whish is what i didnt and managed to snag a spot, the grounds had be3n flooded revently and there was a lot of built up debris on the banks the rest of the park was well kept and clean several bins and a block of toilets which were clean and well lit at night there was running water and a sink but again...

Great free campsite with toilets, boat ramp and grassy sites with shade. Bins are provided and there is a covered picnic area. Campsites are a bit unlevel and getting enough solar can be a problem because of the shade from tall trees. Right next to the river for boats and kayaks and they are catching Dhu fish and Barramundi there. Lovely place to spend 48 hours with a nice 20min walk to a really nice old historic hotel for a cold beer or 2...

Review 2 (late 2020): put the kayak in and went down the river solo for an overnight trip. It was an adventure. A couple times passed by tinnies and ski boats but overall a quiet relaxing paddle. Managed to see a platypus in the early morning and several lung fish popping up for air. Review 1 (early 2020): [3 stars] Water is too low for boating and we kayaked but got mud everywhere.

Amazing camping ground! If you arrive early enough (we arrived a little bit before 5pm), you'll most likely be able to get the spot right next to the river. As a result, we had an amazing evening and morning with a great view. The toilets are well maintained and cleaned up in the morning! There's a BBQ area on top of that, and no mosquito showed up. Very good experience overall.
