Visiting the Timboon Distillery was an absolute delight, an experience I'll cherish forever. From the moment I stepped inside, the ambiance exuded warmth and charm. The rustic decor, coupled with the inviting aroma of spirits, set the perfect tone for a memorable day.
One of the highlights was sharing a delightful cheese platter with my friends Sophie, Ella, Aaron, Vinnie, Matilda, Sophie, and Freya. Sophie and Ella’s selection of cheeses was impeccable, each variety paired harmoniously with the others. Every bite was a burst of flavors, a testament to the artisanal craftsmanship that went into creating the platter.
What made the experience truly special, however, was the company. Sitting around the table, we shared not only delicious food but also laughter, stories, and camaraderie. The atmosphere was lively yet intimate, allowing us to connect on a deeper level while savoring the exquisite cheeses and sipping on the fine spirits produced by Timboon Distillery.
Sophie, Ella, sometimes Aaron, Vinnie, Matilda, Sophie, and Freya added immeasurable joy to the occasion. We toasted to friendship, togetherness, and the simple pleasures of life, creating memories that will stay with us forever. The staff at the distillery were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing our experience with their passion for their craft.
The distillery tour was a fascinating journey into the art of distillation. Learning about the intricate process behind creating their signature spirits was not only educational but also deeply engrossing. The dedication and expertise of the distillers were evident in every sip of their exceptional products.
The picturesque surroundings of the distillery added to the overall charm. The lush greenery, the soothing sounds of nature, and the fresh air created a serene backdrop, making our visit even more delightful. It was a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, allowing us to unwind and appreciate the beauty of the moment.
In conclusion, my visit to the Timboon Distillery was an enchanting experience that exceeded all expectations. The delectable cheese platter, the exquisite spirits, the wonderful company, and the welcoming atmosphere combined to create a day filled with joy and contentment. I left with a heart full of gratitude and a newfound appreciation for the artistry behind distillation. Read moreOverall I recommend this place. The food is good, the staff is nice, the place has a great vibe, and their whiskies are excellent.
Beyond whisky, even if you’re only there for the food the place is a highly recommend stop on your ocean Road trip.
Only piece of feedback on my end : the “tasting” experience was not great. Being served 5 glasses with a card lacks the pleasure of hearing a passionate explain his product. On top of that, despite being cleverly recommended to do the tasting before the lunch (to avoid spoiling the palet), the food arrived right after the tasting board, half-way through the second glass. Had to stop tasting to eat the food while hot, and when I went back to the glasses 2 of them tasted nothing as the spiced food ruined it all. The last 2 glasses, having properly rinsed my mouth, were great, only to be interrupted by the waitress asking us about dessert. Why the rush ? I felt this tasting was being constantly spoiled by food and service rushing our stay in the middle of it.
I am sure it was not the intent, but if you go there do your testing at the bar very separated from your lunch / diner. You’ll do yourself and their whiskies a service.

Read moreWe came for lunch and did not enjoy the experience at all.
First, I asked if they did lemon ice tea, and the waitress said they could do lemongrass/ginger ice tea. What we received was mild, barely brewed tap water with no ice.
We then had to wait almost an hour for our food, during which time we saw other guests come in, order, receive and finish their meals. When I asked if anything in our order had taken a long time to prepare, I was told that it's the busy Summer period and that's just how it is. When I pointed out the other people who had got their meals first, the waiter changed the story and pointed to the vegan bao as taking a long time to prepare (which just so happened to be the meal that we didn't have in common with the other guests - how convenient). If this was true, why not tell me when I specifically asked? Bafflingly, there was no apology for the long wait, despite the visibly and audibly distressed & hungry infant with us.
As for the food, the vegan bao was tasty mainly thanks to the sauce, but the fried chicken was flavourless. The kids tasting plate was pretty good value.
I can't comment on the alcohol, but spend your lunch money elsewhere, there are plenty of...
