Wild Dog Winery — Attraction in Warragul

The view from the dining room is lovely but the decor is plain. The menu is hit and miss and there's no consistency in how it is put together. An Indian inspired curry cauliflower salad is on the entree list, there's a Thai inspired red duck curry on the mains with other nods to Italian cuisine. The steak advertised on the online menu was not available and I don't expect to see a steak sandwich and a burger on an evening restaurant menu. The sides menu had been reduced to ' chips' which were nice but the online side of spinach would have been great with the local pork sausages that my partner ordered. Tempura whiting was ok for my main which I followed with doughnuts with lime curd and pineapple ice cream. The ice cream was a sugary melted mess ( sorry about that -from the staff) no, it's not MKR serve ice cream as on the menu or not at all. We will go back for breakfast and we will try the restaurant again but will keep the expectations low. A bit less trying to be everything to all diners would probably make a for a better...

We decided to try out Wild Dog Winery as we live locally. It's located just south of the town off the road to Korrumburra; very easy to get to by car.

The restaurant is charming; a nice, wooden design that fits very nicely in the area. The view from the dining area is also very nice: sweeping vineyards and rolling hills of Gippsland. There's an outdoor area that would be nice to sit when the weather is nice.

We had a table of 9. They were quick to take our order but then were hardly seen again. The meals were unfortunately very small and we had to clear our own table as no one came back to do it even after they noticed is doing it. Over an hour later a waitress asked if we would like desert and still did not remove anything from the table. Over all just a bad experience and food did not make it...
