One of the biggest parks in the location, which seriously needs to be explored to appreciate what piney lakes park and and piney lakes reserve has to offer and experience. Murdoch University, Murdoch Train station, and Corpus Christi College residing very close to this location is an added bonus, not only because of ease of transport for those that cannot arrive via vehicle, but for those that are interested in stepping away from the park to visit Murdoch University. The parking area almost directly accross from Corpus Christi is large and toilets are very close by, as well as two BBQ's's and a covered seating area. Over the last four years they have made this gem that much more of an eye catcher and certainly comfortable. Have a stroll beyond the all ages play area's to enjoy the beautiful duck pond and wooden walk ways, then you will see the very large grassy sporting area with housing to the left and the reserve to the right. Take a walk along the trail to enjoy the art work and habitat educational stands throughout the reserve walk. There is another small park and pond with a fountain just beyond that and wonderful riding/walking path surrounding all I, have mentioned. Good luck and happy exploring, it's all a unique and...

Friendly neighbour hood. The park is split into 3 main section.

Starting on the side closest to Murdoch Dr you have a hug playground and family area by the lake. The playground had a huge climbing tree and multiple swings. This leads on to nice walk up to the hill on top of piney lakes. On the way up you will pass by waterfalls/bridge and a Lily pond.

The next part after the hill you can see an area for dogs and pets. Regularly at 4pm onwards dog owners well gather to let their dogs interact with each other.

During you walk in the dog area of the park you will see gates. After the gates is a natural reserved for flora and fauna. There is a nice walk on the wooden plants through the trees. Enclose in the nature reserve is a community centre that showcase and educate visitors on the local flora and fauna. in this section you will also find a sculpture walk that has various display of local talents and also an introduction to aboriginal languages

Overall it's a great place to bring the family and pets or just out for a...

I was privileged to attend a Traditional Maori Healing Course there with the Beautiful Gabrielle Walker from Wanderkind... What an Awe Inspiring couple of weeks... Surrounded by the natural beauty of the bush... the melodic dulcet welcome of the birdsong chorus visiting everyday... Added to the essential calming scents and blended rythms and earthly vibrations... It was Soulful... Matching and accommodating the ancient healing traditions that were passed on throughout our time there... Staff were not only accommodating but Genuine... Friendly and always available to lend a listening ear... Awesome... I also liked the fact they are completely off Grid and trying to blend into the environment rather than eliminate it ... Natural Long drop toilet facilities... Solar and Wind Powered... Water Tank...

This has to be Perth’s best nature reserve for walking trails, family picnics or letting the kids run off some steam! With over 50 hectares of bushland and wetland environments and 17 hectares of developed parkland, Piney Lakes Reserve in the Perth suburb of Winthrop is the perfect place to connect with nature and get outside to walk, play or explore - all within 20 minutes of the city! Featuring banksia woodlands and a paperbark forest, a small waterfall and two artificial lakes with plenty of ducks and birds, plus a myriad of walking trails, it’s a great location for a relaxing outing. Take a picnic blanket and spread out by the lake, play some games on the open grass areas or go for a bike ride to explore the park. Looking for a trail to do with your kids - the Piney Lakes PlayTrail might be a great option. This 1.5km dog-friendly walk features a digital scavenger hunt using the free ‘Play Trails’ app with various challenges to unlock and points to win! If you are up for a longer trail, try the Wetland Walk Trail Walk, a 1.2km loop around the natural wetland and paperbark forest, the 1.4km Piney Lakes StoryMap Trail or the Piney Lakes Self-Guided Tour which is 1.8km. For some Indigenous history, take the easy 400m Bidi Katitjiny Aboriginal Women’s Trail with interpretive signs about the Noongar Six Seasons. And your kids will love the Piney Lakes Sensory Playground with sand play, water play, and swings area, along with igloo, balancing logs, gymnastic bars, a roundabout, seesaw and an amphitheatre with play tower, tunnels, slides, rope and rock climbs. It’s an inclusive park with artwork and sculptures featured throughout the playground. (Can you find the letters in the word SENSORY in the park?) There are also public unisex toilets, gas BBQs, drinking fountains, picnic tables and plenty of parking available in this wonderful urban nature reserve. 📍Best parking is off Murdoch Drive, Winthrop . . . . . . #perthtodo #Perth #perthactivities #picnicdate #perthfitfam #bushwalk #perthmums #familyactivities

This is by far my favourite spots for our dog. Ample tree, new fenced off dog area now near the waterfall and car park. Small dog area, all dog area and a training section. My dog is like a five year old at kindy she can’t wait. I still like to take her on a open walk and then through the pathways where the dogs need to be on leads but it’s open, clean Always seeing council workers here cleaning maintaining things. Paths are go Weekends are busy kids families dogs Good dog fountains and bottle top ups Love it I wasn’t very happy at first with the new dog park section but it’s actually not as bad as I thought it would be

Often walk with my friend & his little Maltese 🐶here at the small dog park🐾. Also has a large dog park - plenty of space for both! Today, explored beyond the beautiful grassed open areas surrounded by natural trees 🌳and scrubland that lead to a pond with long necked turtles 🐢They have paths in the bush land that have a variety of sculptures 🐍🦘& a Piney lake Community garden 🪴and Education Centre. There’s plenty of parking 🚗as you enter the park opposite Corpus Christi College where you will see the sensory garden, barbecue area 👨‍🍳, ponds with fountains ⛲️and toilets 🚻#pineylakereserve
