I visited here recently with my father-in-law, hoping to see the Breakwater Battery Museum (which may or may not be permanently closed) and the breakwater itself, which was, unfortunately, closed to the public that day due to rough seas caused by the "bomb cyclone" weather event which much of the NSW coast had been subjected to a few days previously.
There are still things to see here, including two art installations (IMO, these could have benefited from signs to explain their meaning / significance), a monument to the sinking of the MV Gabriella ship in 1986, a WW1 artillery piece, two emplacements where coastal artillery was once mounted, a view of the breakwater, and perhaps most surprisingly, a pretty decent Italian breakfast and lunch restaurant.
