I recently had the pleasure of visiting Morialta Conservation Park, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The natural beauty and serenity of this park left me in awe. The towering rock formations, lush greenery, and the soothing sounds of nature created a truly immersive and peaceful environment.
One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to explore the numerous hiking trails that wind through the park. The well-maintained paths provided a sense of adventure, and I was rewarded with breathtaking views at every turn. It was a fantastic way to connect with nature and get some exercise.
The park's commitment to conservation and preservation of its natural habitat is evident and commendable. The diverse flora and fauna I encountered during my visit were a testament to the park's dedication to preserving its ecological diversity.
However, I would like to mention one minor point of concern. During my visit, I noticed a lack of rubbish bins throughout the park. While I understand the importance of Leave No Trace principles and carrying out your trash, it was a bit confusing not to find bins in common areas. Perhaps adding a few strategically placed bins could help visitors adhere to these principles more easily.
Despite this small observation, my overall experience at Morialta Conservation Park was nothing short of fantastic. I highly recommend it to nature enthusiasts, hikers, and anyone looking for a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's a true gem in the heart of nature, and I can't wait to return for another visit.
Thank you to the park staff and volunteers for maintaining such a beautiful and valuable resource for...

Ive hiked at this park for over 35 years and today’s experience, makes me never want to walk there again,
Hiked during the day with a friend which was great, however dark turn: on way back to carpark, observed and advised to an elderly man not to poke or disturb a turtle in the water with a large long stick,
Instantly both he, his elderly wife and adult son all swearing, yelling, threatened to punch and bash me, tried to grab me, coming into my personal space trying to intimidate me and threaten violence.
I advised them all, there’s no need to threaten violence, don’t touch me, there’s no need to raise voices or swear, this is Adelaide, we protect our wildlife animals in Australia and this is a family friendly park. I was advising not to touch the turtle.
They also had two young children with them, terrible behaviour to display. I suspect DV in this family, as clearly not normal behaviour to escalate so quickly and threaten physical harm. Suspect Generational trauma and violence. What example are they setting for these young children. Clearly not safe adults.
I reported to Park Rangers and SAPOL. Unfortunately they quickly fled the scene so was not able to take their rego. I will be hiking elsewhere from now on.
Stay safe people. Please let me know if you recognise them as would like to follow up both with SAPOL and DCP.
As a community member and Social Worker, this was completely inappropriate behaviour, domestic violence is not okay, who knows if they have or will do again to others.
Disturbing if they work with children or vulnerable people, please do better people...

Of course, no visit to Morialta would be complete without seeing the waterfalls. Morialta Falls is the most popular waterfall in the park, and it's easy to see why. The falls are over 100 meters high and cascade into a beautiful pool below. There is also a smaller waterfall, Upper Falls, which is located a short walk upstream from Morialta Falls
Here are some additional tips for visiting Morialta Conservation Park:
