My favourite National Park - not just in Australia, but the entire world. Where else can you go that is as serene, safe and undeniably beautiful. If you're thirsty after walking one of the trails around the stunning lake, they have the Yanchep Tavern, where not only can you get a drink to quench your thirst, but they have food so good it'll genuinely surprise you. They have a cave which can be booked as a wedding venue! It's gorgeous inside and makes for such a unique experience! Wild kangaroos roam the park and not only that, they have a gated/fenced walkway amongst the trees where you can see some of the Koalas they're rehabilitating! Before we purchased the annual pass - which allows you access into all National Parks within Australia for 365 days - we visited Yanchep National Park four days in a row! By the fourth day the attendant at the entrance suggested we get the annual pass because we couldn't stop raving about how much we loved it here! Even if you don't want to get a bite to eat at the Tavern, they have gazebos you can bring a group or just yourself and make full use of the outdoor BBQ's dotted around the park and have seating to enjoy. You can bring a picnic & a blanket and enjoy the view from the riverbank next to the water. If you're just having a stroll around the park and want to sit for a breather, there's benches to just sit and relax and take a second to breathe. Yanchep National Park is just the full package.

We recently spent a lovely and relaxing afternoon at the Yanchep National Park picnic area, and it was a true gem! The electric barbecues were a fantastic touch, making our experience incredibly convenient and enjoyable. With multiple picnic tables and a beautifully maintained grassy area, it's the perfect spot for families to unwind and spend quality time together. The park's natural beauty was a highlight, with friendly kangaroos and wild birds roaming freely. The Koala enclosure was a delight, offering a unique opportunity to spot these adorable creatures up close, accompanied by informative plaques that added to our knowledge. We appreciated the well-marked roads and parking areas, making navigation a breeze. The overall atmosphere was peaceful and serene, with plenty of shade and scenic views to soak up. If you're looking for a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle, Yanchep National Park picnic area is a must-visit destination. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, with memories to cherish. Highly recommended for a relaxing afternoon out with family and friends!

At the date of writing this review Yanchep's main cave remains closed. After speaking to other people it's been closed for a while apparently and no indication of when it will be reopened To enter Yanchep National Park you require a parks pass which I prepurchased prior to entering the park. only to my disappointment the cave was closed The koala walk was lovely and the nature at the park is evident. If you are an avid photographer or one that appreciates nature and have time to spare then I highly recommend. If you purchase an annual parks pass I believe it's worth it to return several times even for a picnic or for photo opportunities. Ample space and picnic areas lots of seating areas and shade. For a day trip, while the cave is not open then in my opinion probably not worth the effort. I would be calling the visitor centre to confirm if the cave is open first. Fees also apply for the cave There is another cave that could be done in complete darkness with a head lamp but not everyone's cup of tea. One to weigh up

Yanchep is a National Park situated around 45 minutes north of Perth. We stopped here on our way into the city and spent around an hour enjoying the Koala enclosure and walking the Park grounds. The Koala Boardwalk is pretty neat. Not sure how many reside here but we managed to spot two way up in the trees resting. Not easy to spot and couldn't see them well in the thick of the trees but still nice that this sort of wildlife attraction and opportunity can be found so close to Perth. Saw quite a few kangaroos near the carpark area nearest to the Visitor Centre. They seem extremely comfortable with humans not minding that we were walking just a few metres from them and stopping to take a few pictures, a couple even had joeys in their pouches. The Visitor Centre has some merchandise and is located in an early 20th-century building that is nice to see if you enjoy architecture. Clean bathrooms available as well. Lots of grassy space and what seemed like great spots for a spring picnic as well.

Quite a bit to explore if you want to wander around the campsite and caves areas. The cave walks would be more interesting for non-history buffs if they had a 15min non-seminar option, but the rest of the park more than makes up for the lengthy talks in the cave walk. Plenty of opportunities to see kangaroos, sometimes in little families and sometimes in huge packs. A koala viewing area. Some gardens. And most importantly a relaxing park area surrounding a lake, with a small chocolate store that does decent coffee too. Gorgeous walk around the swamp/lake, with surprising changes in scenery. And if you’re up for a longer trek, there are 12km and longer loops through the bush. The 12km passes a small old ruined one-room building around halfway, which is a nice touch for photos, as well. The 4km around the swamp is much more scenic, and a little mysterious at times, though. Haven’t tried the golf course yet.

Our experience at Yanchep National Park and Cabaret Cave for our wedding was beyond perfect—I’ve never been so impressed in my life! Amy, our planner and coordinator, was phenomenal, making sure the entire day ran like clockwork. Sherriden took over in the evening and ensured that everything went smoothly, and her son Jessie was absolutely incredible. He was so polite and thoughtful, making our guests feel comfortable and joining in on the fun. We had two vintage cars involved in our wedding, and Amy and Blake did a fantastic job escorting us throughout the day. Everything went better than I could have imagined. If you're looking for a stunning venue with an amazing team that makes your special day unforgettable, I can't recommend Yanchep National Park and Cabaret Cave enough!

Description
Yanchep National Park is north of Perth, in Western Australia. Its bushland and wetland are home to western gray kangaroos and rich birdlife. Trails include a raised boardwalk among trees inhabited by koalas. One of many caves in the park, Crystal Cave is an underground limestone cavern with stalactites and stalagmites. Talks at nearby Wangi Mia Meeting Place illuminate the culture of the indigenous Nyoongar people.
