Blindsee — Attraction in Biberwier

It’s an extremely beautiful lake with great turquoise color! The water temperature was refreshing in late June when the weather was extremely hot (over 30 degrees).

There’s also a fascinating hiking trail around the lake but you should pay attention to the mountain bike riders and let them go first from time to time since the path gets quite narrow on some parts.

Also please be aware that the last 2 kilometres of the road is only one-sided and allows only one car to drive. The one coming from the other direction should drive back and wait on the little manoeuvre area, which makes it a little stressful to drive there.

The entry fee per car is 15€ and done with a machine with card. Also please keep in mind that there is no facility around: nowhere to grab food and drinks or not even toilet. Even though there’s a restaurant around 3 kilometres nearby, it’s not feasible to go on foot. Therefore, make sure you get what need with you or don’t forget to buy from the last gas station.

Another important issue is the entry to water is all around with pebbles and they are mostly sharp and inconvenient to step. Thus, it’s strongly recommended to bring water shoes or an inflatable mattress to make it easier to get in...

A lovely round route good for all ages. Hiking shoes are recommended as the trail can be rocky and rooty. There isn't much incline on the 3,5Km stretch and there are plenty of places to take a break and enjoy the picturesque scenery. Parking is provided down by the lake for a one time fee - note the road is extremely narrow. Otherwise you can park outside of the boom before the private road begins and walk down or take the bikes. Gorgeous place, beautiful clear water surrounded by stunning mountains, really makes you feel like you're in the middle of nature. ​ However there were no bathrooms we could find, so if you have to pee it'd be in the lake or the bushes.. 15 euros is quite a lot to pay, although I would say it you spend the day there, it is worth it. However the payment had an error which made it withdraw the 15 euros twice! There is a phone number on the board but it isn't an actual functioning number so those 15 euros are lost,...
