Timoks Wilde Welt | Fieberbrunn — Attraction in Fieberbrunn

2021 review: What an amazing spot. It's an absolute must do when you're travelling with kids. We were here last summer and it was one of our highlights of our Austria trip.

There are lovely playgrounds and spacious water playgrounds. Bring along swimming clothes and a towel and don't forget sunscreen.

While the kids play, you can enjoy the absolutely most gorgeous view.

There's a great toboggan run (alpine coaster) of nearly 1,6 km, but... an expensive one. You pay the same fee for adults as for small kids who are sitting inbetween your legs. Ridiculous, obviously. It's easy money as it would be fair just to pay per ride, regardless if one adult uses it or an adult and a small kid. Nevertheless we loved it.

Update: We went here yesterday (30 July 2024) again. We still love it. It's not the largest playground, but the wonderful water area that kept our children entertained for hours. And of all the playgrounds in the mountains in Austria, this has one of the best views.

The prices of the alpine coaster are cheaper for children these days, which is great. €8 for adults. It also has this amazing big lake which is great for swimming. We highly recommend doing that too...

Wir haben Timoks Wilde Welt am 06.08.2024 besucht. An der Talstation haben wir erfahren, dass der Transfer mit dem Shuttle leider nicht bei der PillerseeTal Gästekarte enthalten ist wie angenommen, sondern nur bei der PillerseeTal Card inkludiert gewesen wäre. Rabatt gab es leider auch keinen. Hochwandern wäre mit unserer 4-jährigen aber auch keine Option gewesen, also nahmen wir die 48 Euro für das Busticket halt in Kauf. Der Ansturm war morgens um 9 noch nicht groß. Was man unbedingt wissen muss: beim Kauf der Tickets muss man sich bereits auf eine Zeit für die Rückfahrt festlegen. Im Nachhinein hätten wir bei dem Kaiserwetter locker noch eine weitere Stunde in Timoks Wilder Welt verbringen können, aber wir hatten eben diese eine fixe Rückfahrt und konnten dann aus Zeitgründen am Schluss nur noch ganz kurz beim Wasserspielplatz vorbeischauen. Es gibt einen tollen Wissenspfad rund um den See. Wenn man sich die App runterlädt und alle Stationen macht bekommt man am Ende einen Code, mit dem man sich zurück an der Talstation dann eine Belohnung abholen kann. Die Sommerrodelbahn ist ein Rundkurs und kostet 8 Euro für Erwachsene und 5 Euro für Kinder und es gibt auch 5er Karten die dann pro Fahrt etwas günstiger sind. Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Ebenfalls zu empfehlen ist die Einkehr beim Wildalpgatterl, etwa 15 Min bergauf. Dort ist auch das Damwildgehege zu finden. Momentan ist nämlich direkt bei der Hütte an der Baustelle nur ein Imbisswagen. Der Kletterparcours direkt im Wald war für unsere Tochter das Highlight, allerdings mussten wir hier schon ganz schön Hilfestellung leisten. Das ist eigentlich eher was für ältere / größere Kinder. Unser Fazit: es war ein total actionreicher, abwechslungsreicher und gleichzeitig entspannter Halbtagesausflug und wir würden auf jeden Fall...

Summer 2024: avoid!

Cable car is closed due to construction. Yet, they charge an outrageous € 24,- per person(!) for a meager bus to take you up - just to spend more money at a kiosk, serving greasy overpriced food and too sweet drinks in front of the closed restaurant that only takes cash! You cannot make that up. Maybe a social experiment in greed?

Of course, you can still walk up by yourself, which takes about one hour, and enjoy the views up there. However, it is best to avoid this place for now. There are plenty more alternatives...
