Vorderkaserklamm — Attraction in Gemeinde Sankt Martin bei Lofer

Beautiful landscape all the way. If you park at the first opportunity off the main road, youll need to walk an additional 2.5km to the entrance. If you have kids they will love the numerous playgrounds along the way. Without, you'll enjoy the valley landscape leading up to the gorge. There are also a few opportunities to take a dip in the cold creek. At the entrance of the gorge you'll find another great playground, a kitchy souvenir shop and a superb restaurant. We've had a cold pork roast bread and a Kaiserschmarrn, both of which were fabolous. We did have to wait a bit for a table since it was a bit crowded, but you're free to grab a slice of cake and cold or hot drinks for takeaway and sit somewhere outside the seating area. The gorge itself is beautiful, but unfortunately it is so narrow, that the walkways take up most of the width and you don't see as much of the creek cutting through the rocks as you'd like. Most of the time the water flows below the walkway and you have to lean over the walkway or peek through the steps. But what you see is really amazing. You also have a few good views from the top of the gorge once you're out on the top and other side. Oh and there are some interesting information booths along the way, detailing local...

I recommend visiting the three tourist attractions Vorderkaserklamm, SCHAUHÖHLE LAMPRECHTSHÖHLE and Seisenbergklamm, preferably in this order, for which there is also a combined ticket. It would be good to know that for visiting Vorderkaserklamm you can leave your car in the parking lot located 2.5 km from the access to the gorges, for a fee (4 euros) or you can drive to the entrance, on an asphalt road, where parking is free, but also limited to a few places. Early in the morning, at the opening time, there are great chances to find a parking space at the entrance to the gorges, thus saving the time for the 5 km (round trip), but also the cost of parking. Otherwise, the 5 km round trip is quite pleasant. If visiting the keys is done in the company of children, I really recommend walking the 2.5 km route, as there are many attractions for children...

Die Vorderkaserklamm ist eine schmale Schlucht, die sich durch den Ödenbach im Salzburger Saalachtal zwischen St. Martin und Weißbach gebildet hat. Sie ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel, da sie nicht nur beeindruckend ist, sondern auch ein Naturbadegebiet und einen Steinzeit-Erlebnisweg bietet. Die Klamm ist ca. 400 Meter lang und 80 Meter tief. An den engeren Stellen ist sie nur 80 cm breit, während sie nach oben hin bis zu 6 Meter breit ist. Die Vorderkaserklamm wurde 1977 zum Naturdenkmal erklärt und kann von Mai bis Oktober besucht werden. Der Weg durch die Klamm führt über 51 Stege und 35 Stiegen mit insgesamt 373 Stufen. Die Klamm ist ein Ort, an dem die Natur ihre Kraft demonstriert und die Besucher mit einem einzigartigen Erlebnis belohnt.

Die Vorderkaserklamm ist 400 m lang und 80 m tief. An den engeren Stellen misst sie gerade einmal 80 cm Breite, während sie sich nach oben auf bis zu 6 m öffnet. Es führen insgesamt 51 Holzstege mit 35 Stiegen und 373 Stufen hindurch. Die erstmals 1882 begehbar gemachte Klamm wurde 1977 zum Naturdenkmal erklärt.

Wer Abenteuer, Natur und/oder Erholung für die ganze Familie sucht, der ist im Vorderkaser richtig. Dort finden Sie noch unberührte Natur – geformt in Jahrtausenden von Jahren durch die Gewalt des Wassers, umrahmt von den typischen Kalksteinbergen, für die bunten Farbtupfer sorgt die beeindruckende Orchideenvielfalt. Ein kleines Paradies mitten in den Loferer und Leoganger Steinbergen.

Ihr Erlebnistag startet direkt am Parkplatz des Taleingangs Richtung Vorderkaser. Der neu errichtete Steinzeitweg wird für Kinder die Wanderung interessant und kurzweilig machen.

Für Abwechslung zwischendurch ist gesorgt – die drei Naturteiche mit Hängebrücke, Flößen, Liegewiese, Ruheplätzen bieten mitunter Abkühlung, Abenteuer und Erholung zugleich.

Am vorläufigen Ende des Tales erwartet Sie mit der Vorderkaserklamm ein weiteres Naturschauspiel – und für die Hungrigen empfiehlt sich die Einkehr in der gemütlichen Jausenstation.

Steinzeitweg

Am Weg zur Vorderkaserklamm auf rund 2 Kilometern begibt man sich auf eine spannende Reise in die Steinzeit. Den Besuchern des Steinzeitweges, im speziellen den Kindern, wird auf spielerische Art und Weise die Lebensweise der früheren Zeit etwas nähergebracht.
