𝕬𝖓 𝕰𝖛𝖊𝖓𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖆𝖙 𝕾𝖈𝖍𝖑𝖔𝖘𝖘 𝕸𝖆𝖌𝖊𝖗𝖊𝖌𝖌 🏰🦌 Schloss Mageregg is a hidden gem with roots stretching back to the 16th century. Originally built as a hunting lodge, the castle served as a noble retreat where aristocrats would gather for grand hunts and elegant feasts. Over the centuries, the estate changed hands but retained its rustic charm and deep connection to Carinthia’s wild nature. Today, it is not only a historical landmark but also home to Restaurant Blattschuss, a culinary destination that blends tradition with modern Alpine flavors. We had the pleasure of spending a magical evening there, and it truly felt like stepping into a storybook. My nieces and I were instantly enchanted by the surroundings. The path to the castle winds through peaceful woods, and as you approach the grand gates, you’re welcomed by towering trees, the crisp scent of pine, and the soft sounds of wildlife in the distance. One of the highlights for us—especially for the children—was feeding the deer and roe deer that roam the grounds. Inside the castle, we had the rare chance to see taxidermy animals that were once hunted in the region and are now preserved as part of the lodge’s history. These exhibits tell a quiet story of the past, adding to the mysterious and noble air of the place. As the sun dipped below the treetops, we settled into the warm and rustic setting of Restaurant Blattschuss. As we dined and laughed, surrounded by the warmth of the castle and the beauty of the forest just outside the window, I couldn’t help but feel like we were living a real fairytale. The castle, the forest, the deer, the food—it all came together in a way that felt almost too magical to be real. Living in Austria, I often feel like I’m in my own fairytale. With castles hidden among the hills, crystal-clear lakes, and snow-kissed Alpine forests, every day brings a new page in a storybook I never want to end. ...And just like that, we found ourselves dining where knights once gathered, feeding deer in a forest older than time, and dreaming under stars that watched over centuries of whispered tales.

I would give 4.5. Special place, very relaxing with a big garden. Good food 👍🏻 quite honest prices (87€ for 4 people for 1 plate and 1 coke each).
