Visiting Water Worlds Krimml (Krimmler WasserWelten) was an unforgettable experience for our whole family. The center is beautifully located right at the entrance to the breathtaking Krimml Waterfalls, making it the perfect starting point for a day of adventure and discovery. The innovative adventure center offers a fascinating mix of interactive exhibitions, hands-on activities, and stunning views. We especially loved the outdoor Aquapark, where kids (and adults!) can play, experiment, and learn about the many forms and powers of water in a fun and engaging way. A swimsuit is definitely recommended for children who want to make the most of the water features.
Inside, the Waterfall Center and the House of Water provide plenty of opportunities to learn about the global importance of water, with highlights like the interactive WaterCinema and creative installations that kept everyone entertained. The panoramic terrace is a wonderful spot to relax and take in the impressive views of the waterfalls.
The facilities are modern and accessible, with convenient parking right next to the entrance and a cozy café for a break. Overall, Krimmler WasserWelten is a must-visit for families, nature lovers, and anyone curious about the wonders of water. Highly recommended for a...
Read moreWhat a stunning experience! Water Worlds Krimml offers absolutely incredible views of the waterfall — truly one of the most powerful and beautiful natural sights we’ve seen on our trip. You can hear it before you even see it, and once you're close, it's genuinely breathtaking.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, guiding us through where to go and what to expect. Entry was €9 per adult, and you get access just after the entry point. Totally worth it for how close you can get to the falls and the overall experience.
There’s also a lovely on-site café and restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat, relax with a drink, or cool off with an ice cream — all with a view. It’s a great place to take a break after walking around and soaking in the scenery.
Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area — nature, food, and proper Austrian hospitality all in one spot.
Also worth mentioning - the whole area was incredibly clean and well maintained. We didn't see a single piece of litter anywhere. You can tell they take real pride in keeping the site in excellent condition, which made the experience...
Read moreWow A must see wonder of nature. If your trip to Austria includes a bit of nature, this is a good candidate. It is a long drive but the way is also beautiful you get to see a lot of green pastures, nice roads and beautiful ski towns. There is a 10 Euros toll fee for a private car.. When you get to the parking lots you have a few options: Hike all the way up (and back down of course), take a taxi to the middle of the waterfalls and hike back down or take a taxi to the top of the waterfalls and hike all the way down.
I combined options 2 and 3. Took a taxi to the middle of the waterfalls (7 Euros per person), hiked all the way up and then back down. The taxi ride is 5-10 minutes. Hiking all the way up is a bit tough and takes 30 minutes. Hiking back down is about 1 hour (more if you stop to rest and admire the view).
Note that where the taxi leaves you at the middle station, you get a pretty good view of the waterfalls and on the way down you also have a few places to view it. The view from the top is not necessarily better but you get the satisfaction...
