Hotel Krimmlerfälle — Hotel in Krimml

In March 2019 my family and I have spent one week here for a ski holiday. It is located nearby the center of Krimml. The Krimml waterfalls can be visited by foot from the hotel: it takes about 20-30 minutes walking. Next door there is a bus stop and a pub, and at the other side of the street there is a ski rental shop. In the town of Krimml you can find some shops, an ATM and the local disco. The skibus brings you to the slopes in Hochkrimml in about 20 minutes. If you are going to Konigsleiten, it 'll take about 40 minutes.||The hotel has enough parking places at both sides of the hotel and there is easy access to the basement to store your skigear from outside. It has a nice garden with an outdoor pool (heated) and a separate sauna hut (nude). Inside in the wellness area there is another sauna and steamcabin (swimwear). The pool is also accessible from the wellness area.||When arriving at the hotel, you are welcomed nicely and checking in goes smoothly. Staff is friendly and helpful. The lobby isn't impressive or extra-ordinary but, just as in all other parts of the hotel, the interior is, authentic Austrian local style. This hotel is ideal for families and you feel at home easily. Also in the bar of the hotel, there is nice atmosphere. || The rooms: clean, spacious, easy accessible (there is a lift in the buliding) and providing all needed comfort (TV, radio). There wasn't a mini-bar in our room. Wifi-signal is pretty good here too. Beds are very good and bathroom is large enough. Also there is plenty of storage here. Decoration and interior of the rooms are a little bit outdated though. ||Meals: rather 'average'. There isn't really something wrong with the breakfast buffet but there isn't much variation in it and it gets a bit boring after a while. That counts for dinner too: you can get soup and saladbar from the buffet but again, there isn't a lot of variation in the salad bar. Besides, main dishes are rather small in portion and not always very 'wow'. Clean hotel with a nice pool (albeit a bit small inside and connected to the outside, which makes the water on the colder side in winter) and a sauna. Food included in half-board was good but not great. The weizen available is Stiegl Weisse, which is one of my favourite Austrian beers and very hard to get outside of Austria, so that was very nice for someone that is particularly into beers like me. The staff is very friendly and nice. Rooms are more than adequate (I had a single room, which are quite spacious for an individual). Location is great, a bus stop to the ski piste literally in front of the hotel, short drive to the piste. The bus is included in the ski pass. Busses are usually at full capacity, so a seated position is not guaranteed, but it's only a short drive, so it's not a big deal.

One downside is that the ski and shoe hall (mainly the shoe part) is not adequate for the size of the hotel. If you arrive late there's simply no space left. So I just brought my shoes up to my hotel room and put them under the radiator in the bathroom. It worked fine for me, but my room was basically as close as you can get to the ski and shoe hall (literally next to the elevator that goes directly to the hall). This is why I gave the service 4 stars instead of 5.

Still overall a great experience and the shoe bit was for me not a big deal, but if you sleep on the other side of the hotel it would be a lot more annoying.

I've heard that the location is really good in summer as well (very close to the Krimmler wasserfallen), but I have no personal experience. I stayed in February (the waterfall can be seen from a distance, but the pathways to get there are closed in winter).

Parking is available at the hotel, and there are several charging stations for electric cars in town quite close...

Nous avons séjourné dans cet hôtel durant 12 jours. Je ne qualifierais pas cet hôtel d'un 4 étoiles, à peine 2 !!! Le soir de notre arrivée, pas de personnel à la réception pour nous accueillir, les serveurs qui faisaient le service du soir nous regardaient bêtement sans venir nous demander qq chose et encore moins prévenir quelqu'un de notre arrivée. On ne vous accompagne pas à votre chambre, on vous remet une clé, on vous indique l'étage et débrouillez vous ! Notre premier repas du soir, on a déjà dû demander de nous mettre de l'éclairage au-dessus de notre table, car la lampe était cassée et si on ne demande rien, on vous laisse manger dans le noir ! il faut savoir faire la différence entre un restaurant et une boite de nuit ! Manifestement, ici pas de différence. on est obligé de manger dans le vacarme ! heures du repas du soir, 18H à 19H30 = Bcp trop court !! Alors que les clients externes à l'hôtel peuvent manger jusqu'à 20h30 !, On vous demande ce que vous voulez boire, mais on ne vous propose pas la carte !!! Il faut toujours demander et redemander chaque jour ! le personnel n'a pas fait l'école hôtelière, ca se voit ! il y avait une serveuse, Emilia, pas du tout souriante, antipathique, à peine polie ! Par contre Alina, elle au moins elle était toujours très souriante, à l'écoute des clients, c'était un plaisir d'être servie par cette demoiselle. le service au bar, il faut attendre parfois 15 minutes avant que l'on ne vienne vous demander ce que vous souhaiter boire, et toujours pas de carte, faut deviner !! Vous commander une bouteille de vin rosé, on vous pose la bouteille sur la table, celle-ci n'est même pas mise dans un sac à vin avec des glaçons pour la tenir au frais !! On est censé mangé dans un hôtel 4* !! La nourriture, entre le porc et la dinde, il faut se lever de bonne heure pour avoir autre chose. A croire que l'hôtel élève des cochons !!! Marre de manger du porc à toutes les sauces chaque soir dans un hôtel 4* !!! ce ne sont pas des menus dignes d'un hôtel 4*. voir les quelques photos en annexe. c'est de la nourriture de CANTINE !!. Un soir nous avons reçu un dessert (photo en annexe), je ne sais pas ce que c'était mais ca avait juste le goût de gélatine !! Même l'aspect n'était pas du tout alléchant. Nous ne l'avons pas mangé !! beurk !!! Parlons du petit-déjeuner, 7h30-10h. une seule machine à café pour tout un hôtel, c'est beaucoup trop peu ! on doit faire la file et ca prend énormément de temps pour avoir son café, et quand la machine manque de lait ou de café, ben faut attendre le bon vouloir de quelqu'un. A croire que le personnel ne voit pas OU sont les problèmes, ou peut-être préfèrent-ils ne pas les voir ! Il en va de même pour le grille-pain, un tout petit grille-pain où on ne pouvait y mettre que deux petites tranches !! vous imaginez la file le matin pour faire griller votre pain !!! ABBERANT ! Si vous allez tôt pour le déjeuner vous avez des choses que vous n'avez pas si vous y allez vers 9h. Le matin de notre départ, il y avait un petit plateau avec 6 donuts. une fois que le plateau a été vide, je n'en ai plus revu, la même chose avec une certaine catégorie de pain (voir photo) !!! 6 donuts pour tout un hôtel où il y a énormément d'enfants, je ne sais pas comment ils font !! A mon avis, ils s'en foutent !! Juste à coté de l'hôtel, il y a leur camping, du même nom !! un camping attenant à un hôtel 4* !! Où les poubelles débordent chaque jour, vu que celles-ci ne sont pas vidées tous les jours(paroles de campeurs). il faut savoir ce que l'on veut : un hôtel 4* ou un terrain de camping ??? !!Si nous avions su qu'il y avait un terrain de camping attenant à l'hôtel, nous ne serions jamais venu dans cet hôtel !! il y a toujours le chien de la maison, qui traine sous les tables !! ce chien est sale et pue, son poil n'est vraiment pas entretenu !! Nous ne recommandons pas du tout cet hôtel, car personnel peu aimable, et nourriture de CANTINE !!
