Hochwurzen — Attraction in Politische Expositur Gröbming

Mount Hockwurzen + go-karting activity. We visited the mountain on a sunny day (it was a nice morning) - a cable car ride (free with the Schladming ticket).

The mountain has a number of different activities. From hiking trails, go-karting, paragliding. We started the 25-bench route in front of a breathtaking view (circular route) of 3 km, around an hour and a half walk, along the entire route there are many special benches designed in front of the view and some activities for small children. There are several more challenging and long walking routes. The route consists of 2 circles, a very comfortable walk and a slight incline (not sure if it is suitable for strollers). At the end of the route we return to the cable car station and you can go down or by tricycle (go-karting). We chose to go down with the tricycle - a 7 km route - a very challenging and not simple route and relatively dangerous.

Hochwurtzen is not the same quality as the Planai region. In my opinion it would be better to offer a half priced ticket that is only valid on Planai, you would only miss old chair lifts with long lines and miles of almost level "family" paths which are a nightmare for snowboarders (you need to take off your gear several times for car route crossings) The two regions are not connected well at all. Bus service is also lacking, for over €50 a day you would expect friendlier bus drivers and no 2 hours during the day when there is no bus at all. We were waiting at the bus stop for over an hour, when a bus came, but the driver did not let us get on. We had to wait another 20 minutes, only to see the previous bus parking...

First time visit, and I am glad i found it. Fresh powder and bluebird days, that's the dream, right? This place has some serious charm, with runs for everyone, from newbies finding their ski legs to seasoned pros craving a challenge. Cruising down those wide slopes is pure joy, and the views? Unforgettable. Even if the weather throws a curveball, there's always a cozy hut waiting with hot chocolate and good company.
