Welt der Gifte — Attraction in Salzburg

What an unforgettable experience! When we were looking for the zoo, we were very suspicious as it is situated in an industrial area. However, we were shown into a very tidy space with some of the healthiest reptiles I've ever seen. The zoo showcases a wide variety of toxic plants, reptiles and even fish! You'll get a short 101 of toxicology and proceed not only to see and learn about, but handle and feed some of these animals. When there is true passion for animals, it shows, and nowhere is it clearer to see than in this venture - the owner is a vet and extremely knowledgeable + generous about sharing anecdotes and facts. It was incredibly educational and very interactive, we left feeling like it had been the perfect complement to zoo visits in Hellabrunn and Innsbruck. I really enjoyed the visit! Dr Nils truly made it something special. He made everything we've got to learn very entertaining and engaging. The collection of all the snakes and other poisonous/venomous animals was quite vast. It is definitely worth going there, if You're ever near the Salzburg city and have some free time. And book it for the last hour, then You are gonna be in no rush, as we were actually 45 minutes longer than expected :D I appreciate it very much and recommend going...
