My recent stay at the Venet Gipfelhütte was truly extraordinary. From the very beginning, we were greeted with such warmth by the reception staff that it immediately set the tone for the whole trip. The hut itself was spotless, and you could tell how much care and attention to detail goes into keeping everything in perfect condition.
A special word of praise goes to the hut manager. The way everything was so well-organized — from meals to room comfort to little details that made our stay smooth — really showed excellent leadership. It created an atmosphere where we felt both cared for and completely at ease.
The restaurant was another highlight. Honestly, I hadn’t expected such quality on a mountaintop — the food was on par with the very best restaurants in the valley. Every meal was delicious, beautifully prepared, and made dining a true pleasure. Both breakfast and dinner were generous, varied, and full of flavor. It was one of those places where you actually look forward to each mealtime.
Getting there was easy and convenient thanks to the Rifenalbahn. The lift made access simple, and the staff working there were just as friendly and supportive as those in the hut. Once at the top, the reward was unbelievable: a breathtaking 360° panorama of surrounding peaks. Every time I stepped outside, I found myself pausing just to take it all in.
The hut is also the perfect base for activities. We hiked to the Glander Peak (2,512 m), Wannenjöchl (2,497 m), and Kreutzjoch (2,464 m) — each offering its own unique views and sense of achievement. The Panorama View Trail to the Goglesalm was another highlight, and for a touch of culture, the nearby Kronburg Monastery and its ancient fortification ruins were well worth the visit.
All in all, the Venet Gipfelhütte is more than just a place to stay — it’s a complete mountain experience. The combination of warm, professional people, outstanding food, incredible views, and thoughtful organization made this trip unforgettable. I’m already looking forward...
Read moreNot very friendly or helpful personnel, yet the food wasn't too bad and the views are stunning with nice weather. A huge pity that it was not advised anywhere that the Bob wouldn't work today until we were up. And in the brochure it was said that there would be a combined ticket for the genussberg/ venetbahn and the Zammer Lochputz, but apparently that wasn't sold...
