Garden of the Groves is a treasure. I love sitting at the cafe while it rains, strolling the multiple paths, or just getting lost in thought while the turtle splash and the waterfalls play. It's a place to wonder, wander and relax.

More than that though are the people I encounter there! Ms Katrina runs a straw shop where I can sit quietly while she weaves a Bahama Mama doll or some other creation! When I am quiet, she'll tell stories about the old days at the straw market. She shares blessings through her craft!

Ms Bridget has the Bahamas calendar, coconut jewelry and much more! If I am still, she'll tell me about all the local artists she knows, show me where to find them and clue me into the craft! She's a birder too, this is a birder's paradise. I run into Ms Bridget all over the island because she seems to know everyone!

Ms Gladys is a creative jewel of the Groves. She turns upcycling into an art. Just ask her the story behind her work, and you will take home a bit of Grand Bahama in your heart!

Go to Garden of the Groves! Don't worry about the entrance fee, it's a pitence for the experience. Don't rush! Meet the artisans, stroll the pathways, walk the labyrinth, listen to waterfalls and enjoy this haven. Don't forget to hydrate, Ms Bridget has juices and water if you forgot to bring some. Find some shade and listen! You'll leave much richer than you arrived no matter...

I recently visited Garden of the Grove in Freeport, Bahamas, and unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. While I am sure the park was probably beautiful before the past hurricanes, it is now in desperate need of some tender loving care. The current state of the park makes it hard to justify the $17 per person admission fee. The entry fee might not seem too high, but considering the cab ride took twice as long as the time we spent in the park, it doesn't feel worth it. Our cab driver even tried to talk us out of going, mentioning that the park is no longer being maintained. This was evident as we walked through; the grounds are not being kept up, and the beauty that must have once been there is now faded. It is truly sad because I can imagine how wonderful Garden of the Grove must have been at one time. Hopefully, they will invest in restoring the park to its former glory. Until then, I would suggest spending your time and...

Gorgeous botanical garden, with a wide variety of tropical flora and fauna to encounter. The gardens are a delight to explore, with many shady and cool rest areas to relax in and admire the beautiful nature.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and provided us with all sorts of useful information and travel tips. There's also several animals to meet, including two parrots in aviaries (they talk to you!), and local ducks and geese that wander the lakeside property.

There's a cafe on-site, which runs on the pricy side, but offers a good variety of quality breakfast and lunch foods. There's also various other interesting attractions to see, including the garden labirinth (which is admittedly more like a meditation trail), garden shops, old chapel, and an adorable...

After a long bike to the garden, I didn’t get to explore every corner of it. But I mainly lost interest after noticing that the garden needed to be well kept and cleaned up. I was hoping to see many different plans and flowers but didn’t get lucky. Bushes and trees needed trimming. The children playground needed attentions and definitely replaced if not painted. I was simply disappointed…. It looked abandoned. The only place that looked decent was the restaurants where most tourists hung out. Other then that I was not impressed…. I hope they put to use the $17 fee. I didn’t take any fotos of the areas that needed attention since I was so tired from pedaling over 3 hours. And there was not much that captivated my attention. Beside the restaurant area, the church and labyrinth!
