Foy's Lake is a man made lake in Chittagong, Bangladesh. It was created in 1924 by constructing a dam across the stream that came down from the hills in the northern part of Chittagong. The purpose of creating an artificial lake was to provide water to the residents of the railway colony. It was named after Mr. Foy, a Railway engineer, believed to materialize said project. Pahartali was essentially a railway town containing a workshop, yard, and shed. Presently, a carriage workshop, diesel workshop, loco shed, laboratory, stores, electric workshop, school (established in 1924) are located here. A good number of railway employees reside in the nearby colony.

I visited Foy's Lake on 13th August, 2022. I went there alone. I really enjoyed the whole visit. The ticket price was 400taka (entry, 250ml Pepsi & 7 rides including).

It's an amusement park. The space inside is vast. There are rides like Bumper car, Ferry's wheel, Merry go round etc. There's a water park as well, I didn't go inside the water park though.

There are multiple lakes & small hills. You can go for boat ride, lake cruise & kayaking. There are a few restaurants & food shops inside. In comparison to other amusement parks I have visited, the food places inside Foy's Lake amusement park are not extremely overpriced. For example, a bottle of 250ml Pepsi which I can get for 20 taka from any outside grocery store, the shops inside Foy's Lake charged 22taka for it– not 40/50 taka like most other amusement parks I visited.

You can go there with your family and friends. It can be an interesting place for both adults & children. I went alone & I enjoyed a lot.

No outside food, drinks or water is allowed in the park. If you have any outside food/drink with you, you'll have to consign those in the counter before you enter the park. You can collect your belongings from the counter beside the entry gate when you leave the park.

If you wanna go somewhere interesting within low budget, I highly recommend Foy's Lake. And if you don't like crowd, go there in the morning or noon. I went there on Saturday at around 1pm & there wasn't much crowd at all. I really enjoyed the "Apollo Flight" & "Pirate Ship" ride. I was interested in Kayaking & Paddle boat, but I was in a hurry, so I couldn't do that. I'd like to visit...

Its a very beautiful tourist place in bangladesh. Foy's lake & the chittagong zoo are in same place. One of the best place in live in and hanging for  around. Lot's of entertainment here. It is best place to play with children. It's a green forest location. There are some natural beauty also which attracts people very much. Excellent place for day's hangout with Family and friends. Romantic during weekdays whene it's less crowded. There are many activities to do. You can enjoy water ride at the water world. You book as a group price is very cheap. Please contact with park authority prior to coming if you enjoy any discount for group. The Best thing in foy's lake is boot riding, it was really best  weather and you roaming almost 20 or 25 minutes with boat in the lake.
