বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের শুরুতেই ২৫ মার্চ কালরাত্রিতে পাকিস্তানি সেনাবাহিনীর আক্রমণের শিকার হয়েছিল ঢাকার রাজারবাগ পুলিশ লাইন্স। মুক্তিযুদ্ধে প্রথম সশস্ত্র প্রতিরোধ গড়ে তুলেছিল রাজারবাগের পুলিশ বাহিনী। ২৫ মার্চের সেই দিনের ত্বরিত সিদ্ধান্ত, সাহসিকতা ও বীরত্বগাথার বিভিন্ন প্রমাণ বহন করছে ‘বাংলাদেশ পুলিশ মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘর’। পুলিশ সদস্যদের ওই গৌরবোজ্জ্বল ভূমিকাকে নতুন প্রজন্মের মাঝে ছড়িয়ে দিতে ঢাকার রাজারবাগে পুলিশ লাইন্সে স্থাপিত হয়েছে ‘বাংলাদেশ পুলিশ মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘর’। মহান মুক্তিযুদ্ধে বাংলাদেশ পুলিশের প্রথম সশস্ত্র প্রতিরোধ ও নয় মাসের রক্তাক্ত সংগ্রামের পুলিশ সদস্যদের আত্মত্যাগের গৌরবময় ইতিহাস তুলে ধরার লক্ষ্যে ২০১৩ সালের ২৪ মার্চ রাজারবাগ পুলিশ লাইন্সের টেলিকম ভবনে স্বল্প পরিসরে প্রথম যাত্রা শুরু করে ‘বাংলাদেশ পুলিশ মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘর’। পরবর্তিকালে চলতি বছরের ২৩ জানুয়ারি রাজারবাগে পুলিশ স্মৃতিস্তম্ভের পাশে দেড় বিঘা জমির ওপর জাদুঘরটির স্থায়ী নতুন ভবন উদ্বোধন করেন মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। জাদুঘরের নকশা করেন স্থপতি মীর আমিন। জাদুঘরে ঢুকলে প্রথমেই চোখ পড়বে বঙ্গবন্ধু গ্যালারি। গ্যালারির দুপাশের দেয়ালে রয়েছে বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের নানা সময়কার দুর্লভ আলোকচিত্র ও কিছু বাণী। ডানপাশে রয়েছে একটি ভার্চ্যুয়াল লাইব্রেরি আর বামপাশে রয়েছে একটি অডিও ভিজ্যুয়াল কক্ষ। লাইব্রেরিতে বঙ্গবন্ধু ও মুক্তিযুদ্ধ নিয়ে নয় শতাধিক বই রয়েছে। ২৫ মার্চ কালরাত্রিতে রাজারবাগ পুলিশ লাইন্সে আক্রমণের সময় পাকিস্তানি হানাদার বাহিনীর বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিরোধের ব্যবহৃত থ্রি নট থ্রি রাইফেল, মুক্তিযুদ্ধে ব্যবহৃত হেলিকপ্টারের ওয়ারলেস সেট, শহীদ আফতাব উদ্দিন আহমেদের ব্যবহৃত টুপি, বঙ্গবন্ধুর পক্ষে স্বাধীনতার ঘোষণা টেলিগ্রাম লেটার, স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশের প্রথম আইজিপি আবদুল খালেকের ব্যবহৃত চেয়ার, প্রথম প্রতিরোধ যুদ্ধের উদ্ধারকৃত গুলি ও গুলির খোসা, শহীদ ইন্সপেক্টর গোলাম রাব্বানীর ব্যবহৃত ইউনিফর্ম, পুলিশ সুপার (অব.) মাহবুবউদ্দিন আহমেদ বীরবিক্রমের ব্যবহৃত রিভলবার, মুক্তিযুদ্ধে ব্যবহৃত হ্যান্ড মাইক, মুক্তিযুদ্ধকালীন রাজারবাগ পুলিশ লাইন্সে টেলিকম ভবনে ব্যবহৃত দেয়াল ঘড়ি, মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময়ে বিভিন্ন সংবাদপত্রে প্রকাশিত আলোকচিত্রসহ প্রতিবেদন, জাতির জনক বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানসহ মুক্তিযুদ্ধে নেতৃত্ব দেয়া নেতাদের ছবি ও পুলিশের দালিলিক বিভিন্ন চিঠিপত্র , ২৫ মার্চ রাতে যে বেতার যন্ত্রটি ব্যবহার কারে সারা দেশে পুলিশ সদস্যদের রাজারবাগ আক্রমণের খবর দেয়া হয়েছিল তা যত্ন করে সংরক্ষণ করা হয়েছে এ জাদুঘরে। এখানে আরও দেখতে পাবেন মুঘল, ব্রিটিশ ও পাকিস্তান আমলের ইউনিফর্ম এবং পুলিশ কর্তৃক ব্যবহৃত তরবারি, রাজারবাগ প্রতিরোধ যুদ্ধের স্মৃতিবিজড়িত কাঠের বেঞ্চ, বাংলাদেশের বন্ধু খ্যাতনামা সঙ্গীতশিল্পী জর্জ হ্যারিসনের আলোকচিত্র, স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামে রায়েরবাজার বধ্যভূমিতে শিলালিপির সম্পাদিকা সেলিনা পারভীনের শবদেহের আলোকচিত্র, পাকিস্তান সেনাবাহিনী ক্যাম্পে বাঙালি মেয়েদের বন্দি করে নির্যাতন করা হতো-দেয়ালে আঁকা ছবি, নির্যাতিত নারীর পিতার লেখা চিঠি, মুক্তিযুদ্ধে মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের মনোবল বৃদ্ধি করার লক্ষ্যে মুজিবনগর সরকারের জনসংযোগ বিভাগ কর্তৃক মুদ্রিত ও প্রকাশিত লিফলেট, গেরিলা প্রশিক্ষণে নারী মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের আলোকচিত্রসহ অন্যান্য জিনিসপত্র। কালের সাক্ষী সেই পাগলা ঘণ্টাটি জাদুঘরে সংরক্ষণ হয়েছে। যুদ্ধের সময় দূর থেকে শত্রুর উপস্থিতি ও অবস্থান দেখার জন্য পুলিশ বাহিনীর সার্চ লাইট, পাকবাহিনীর নিক্ষেপ করা মর্টার সেলের অংশবিশেষ, পুলিশ কর্তৃক দাঙ্গা দমনে ব্যবহার করা বিশেষ ধরনের রাবার সেল, নন্দিত কথা সাহিত্যিক হুমায়ুন আহমেদ ও লেখক জাফর ইকবালের পিতা মুক্তিযোদ্ধা ফয়জুর রহমানের লেখা ডায়েরি ও টেপ রেকর্ডার সংরক্ষণ করে রাখা হয়েছে বাংলাদেশ পুলিশ মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘরে। জাদুঘরে পাশে রয়েছে স্মৃতিস্তম্ভ ও চিরদুর্জয় ভাস্কর্য। স্মৃতিস্তম্ভটি নিচে গম্বুজ আকৃতি ভেতরে উপরে এই স্মৃতিফলকটির নিচের দিকে শ্বেতপাথরের ফলকে শহীদের দীর্ঘ নামের তালিকা রয়েছে। এতে ২৫ মার্চের ভয়াল রাতে নিহত পুলিশ সদস্যদের বীরত্বগাথা ফুটে উঠেছে।

It's a good place to know about our cultural history. This place displays so much information about liberation War held in 1971. Young generation should visit there to know more about the miserable sacrifice of 3 million people made for our mother language Bangla. This place is mainly based on documentaries how we achieved the freedom against Pakistan. There is a library on 1st floor . Anybody can read books as much as they want to aquire knowledge and know detailed things about how it began. This place is so quiet. And I dropped a photo of front area of beautifully arranged grass decoration. Had no trouble to get tickets. And it's not a entertaining place I must say. There's a canteen also.

The Liberation War Museum (Bengali: মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘর) is a national museum at Agargaon in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, which commemorates the Bangladesh Liberation War that led to the independence of Bangladesh. Over the years the museum collected more than 21,000 artifacts (as of 2016), with some as exhibits on display in the museum and many more stored in its archives. The museum describes itself as "the outcome of a citizens' effort" due to the crowd-funded nature of the museum (which is independent of the Govt. of Bangladesh) and the collective contribution of the general public to the museum's collection.

Rajarbagh is a residential area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. This very famous and historical place of Bangladesh. There is a police line in Rajarbagh. The areas adjacent to it are Shantinagar, Motijheel, Malibagh, Shantibagh, Momenbagh, Shahidbagh, Siddheshwari and Shahjahanpur. It has a great history on our liberation war. On 25 March 1971, the Pakistan Army attacked the Rajarbagh police line with the start of Operation Searchlight.
