Entire trip underwater is around 40minutes. If you’re driving there like we did, follow the signs for it on Google after you pass the gates it’s on the left hand side. Parking is free there.
To enter you need an email with the QR code to get past the gate which the company sends you.
I found the staff at the port very impatient and irritated. Even asking questions like using a bathroom wasn’t met pleasantly.
Please be aware for this experience they still require you to wear masks! We were there on the 20/12/22. I didn’t see this anywhere on their website and they charge 1$ per mask.
The voyage out to the submarine is only maybe 5 minutes on the boat,
Inside the submarine is pretty warm, but you do get your own air vent and there are sick bags at every seat.
Be aware you are crammed in shoulder to shoulder as you’d probably expect since it’s a submarine.
There was only 29 people aboard our trip but I dare say it’s a bit more uncomfortable with a full party.
We were again met with irritation while we tried to take a picture of the submarine when we were departing.
The submarine goes down to 150ft however at that level there is no coral as the captain explains. Most of the trip is around the 60-40ft level.
Plenty of fish to see, also seeing a wreck too which was purposefully sunk to attract coral.
All in all this was a good experience. Our first time on a submarine. However the staff at the port and on the transfer boat made it more of an unpleasant experience as well as the use of masks.
The captain and his co pilot were great and very informative about the things we were seeing.
But I wouldn’t do it again and I’d have my reservations recommending this place because...
Read moreThe experience of going in a submarine for the first time was exciting. It doesn't matter how old you are - if you've never done it before, then it is good fun. Interesting too. The crew were brilliant - funny, health and safety briefing was just right and with a jovial soundtrack playing for most of the voyage. To get to the submarine, you travel on a catamaran. Again, if not done before, quite interesting. (If you are doing excursions in the Caribbean, it probably won't be the only time you go on a catamaran). Watching the submarine rise from under the water is in itself a sight. Getting inside was easy - as long as you are not physically impaired - and again the staff were helpful. Inside the tub, you can see a gauge showing how deep you are going. It is serene and a privilege. We saw lots and lots of coral. Then more coral. The occasional fish swam by a port-hole and occasionally we saw the odd small shoal of fish. The 2 posters on the inside of the sub showing the sea life that you could possibly see, were faded and optimistic to put it mildly. In all honesty, we didn't see a lot. In fact, we saw more sea life on the Sting-Ray excursion a few days later (with snorkels provided). The biggest shoal of fish we saw was when walking along the jetty from the sub to the meeting point. Pleasant staff in the small expensive shop too. There is an earlier model of submarine on display in the grounds. I am looking at the other posted photos of sea life - maybe it is a seasonal thing - but we saw nothing like the images shown :-( All -in - all, an enjoyable experience. Worth the money? You only live once - and if you don't have great expectations of what you are going to see,...
Read moreThis was an AWSOME experience!!! There is a shop/ticket sales area with ac, snacks, drinks, souvenirs and clean washrooms. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The wait for the submarine is...it varies in times (the locals call it "Barbadian time" where you can wait 30 minutes extra or 5 minutes) they also have night tours with the submarine rides. At the dock outside the shop/ticket place you walk(short walk) over to a boat that will take you our to where the submarine is waiting out in sea. Then you will cross over into it (if you have issues with balance or a weak stomach, it might be a challenge for you) you'll go back down single fill and find a seat. If you don't like small spaces or low pressure it's not for you. It's about a hour in the submarine and the take you to at least 2 coral reefs areas where you see lots of fish and other sea creatures. Then you'll make your way back to the boat and they have a 1 alcohol beverage for adults and a fruit punch for kids. Then to get to the dock and you can make your way to the ticket shop to pick up your submarine certificate as a nice memory...
