One of the best recreation spaces in the beautiful tropical paradise island of Barbados, this boardwalk is excellent for your peaceful relaxing stroll to clear your head or a nice romantic walk with a loved one at sunset. Or a brisk walk or jog in the evening or early morning, along the boardwalk are plenty opportunities to refresh with a nice juice or drink; a delightful meal (read:dinner). Be sure to check the weather forecast before setting out, never walk alone after dark and keep an eye out on your surroundings. The boardwalk is a public space so don't do anything to be a nuisance to others, keep music personal with headphones and keep pets leashed at all times, besure to pickup their droppings also and don't litter, whatever you drop there, ends up in the ocean threatening marine life. Please don't do that, if you see a nesting sea turtle call the Turtle project hotline: +1246230-0142 and report the sighting, whether adult or hatchling. There's also a. Free water station available for public use, you should use a cup or bottle to capture for personal usage close to the handstand area, just above...

My favourite place I run down this place in the morning ten days of the 17 days that we were here. Loved having the water splash on me while running as it helped with cooling down. It some places it felt like running in a sauna and then the sea splashing out at you to cool you down, heaven. After my run I would then take off my shoes and walk in the sea back to my hotel. Just remember to bring loose fitting clothes for running and probably some comfortable running shorts instead of cycling shorts and all. I will definitely miss this place. We had a few days where parts of the boardwalk were covered in sand which made running a bit of a challenge, a good challenge. There is always people exercising from as early as 5.30 or when daylight...

Very picturesque boardwalk running from the end of Rockley beach to Coconut Court Beach. Perfect for an early morning stroll or watching the sunset with a rum punch from one of the local beachside bars. Very safe, and very tranquil, especially early in the morning. Apparently there's a chance you'll see green monkeys or hummingbirds if you're extremely lucky - we didn't, but saw plenty of crabs and lizards as we made our way the few times we visited the boardwalk.

There was some building work going on towards the end of the boardwalk when we visited, but they have displayed a lot of amazing local artwork along the area where the building is going on, so it doesn't detract from the experience in...

What a GREAT way to have a relaxing walk along the South Coast. The Richard Haynes Boardwalk directly fronts the Caribbean, is sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the Main Road, and passes many local restaurants and bars directly fronting it where you can stop for a quick refreshment, or a full meal. It's open 24 hours a day to walkers of all levels (it's flat, has plenty of rest stops, and shade in places as well). The Boardwalk is virtually empty from late morning until early evening when more walkers take their daily walkabouts. Use it for exercise, use it to get to you favorite hangout on the beach, or use it to quickly get from point A to point B. It's GREAT!
