It's a good park with lots of greenery around. Pet friendly atmosphere. Proper bike track for people who want to bike in some park or in a green track. Easy to reach, we went by own bikes with the help of Google maps, there was some train/tram station nearby so should not be tough to go by public transportation. You can easily spend some time with you friends or family there. There is some good amount of ups and downs in the park it was fun to ride bike( sometimes tough as well) , saw some elderly people also walking the same track so should not be too tough or too much challenging for anyone. You can sit in some corner under the trees or can enjoy sun in a sunny day. Overall great place which leaves good experience. Won't think twice about going there for the second time. Saw some pictures of lake or pond while checking it online on Google search or Google image search but could not find it anywhere while biking, so if you are going for it then might have to go out of track or might not find it. Pro tip: Go with you own drinks or snacks to enjoy good time with...
Read moreVery steep park with amazingly tall trees, lovely grassy areas and woodland. It's very wild for a city park and everyone can enjoy a sense of unspoilt nature just a few kilometres from Brussels Grand'Place. Fences have been erected such that one must now wonder if it is a zoological park, and who are the exhibits (those inside, or those outside); furthermore, dogs, who used to have free range in the park, are now condemned to being on a lead except in two areas (one generous, one smaller, worn down and getting smellier by the day). The ensuing lack of freedom completely takes away the joy of visiting this once wonderful place, and now it can only be categorised as maximum THREE stars out of FIVE....
Read moreI have seen this park evolve over the course of 30 years and it is still a pleasure and chance to be able to wander around this kind of forest in the middle of the city. Its huge old trees are clear clue to it being a part of the Sonian Forest (Forêt de Soignes). Sadly, due to safety reasons, each years the amount of trees dimishies and it isn't as lush as it used to be. However, the different walking paths are even better maintained now.
Unfortunately, it isn't the best place for runners because of two reasons. First, it is a very hilly park and very few flat trails. Second, in the evening it gets crowded with dog owners that walk in groups so big that it's almost impossible to walk or run...
