I didn’t know the museum but a super nice concierge at my hotel send me there (Pedro from Green Park Hotel). It was an amazing discovery since it focus on a concrete period/operation of the II War (operation Switchback). I learned a lot unknown facts, saw a lot of original items and ended up astonished by the bravery of the Belgium resistance and the Canadian troops sent to Flanders. It’s recommendable to go with children since it’s a quick tour and they have a lot to see, a few videos, a few vehicles and a fighter jet. For a private collection it’s amazing the amount of little details that a visitor can see. The museum uses numerous dioramas and informative audio guides (available in various languages, playable on your smartphone; bring headphones if you like) to explain the events and the significance of the Battle of the Scheldt Estuary for the course of the war. There are many exhibits: weapons, uniforms, etc. There are few larger exhibits. Vehicles and excavated finds from aircraft crash sites are on display in two halls.
