As a seasoned traveler who's stood on the rim of the Grand Canyon, I approached Belgium's own Grand Canyon with a mix of skepticism and anticipation. The journey to Fondry Des Chiens was, shall we say, an odyssey through Belgium’s charmingly bumpy back roads. Upon arrival, my enthusiasm deflated faster than a punctured tire.
“Is this it?” I thought, standing at the edge of a glorified rock formation surrounded by selfie-snapping families. The “canyon” is more of a quaint photo op than a geological marvel. However, I must admit, the surrounding Ardennes are stunning. The hiking trails led us through vibrant forests and off the beaten path into the picturesque town of Nismes.
