Cascade de Reinhardstein — Attraction in Waimes

Really lovely waterfall on the backside of the castle. The trails around it are beautiful as well and will give you amazing views. There is a lovely little stream that you have to cross a few times. Some steeper climbs but nothing radical. We went with my 1 year old in the kiddy backpack on my back and my three year old did the trail all by herself. (With the occasional holding hands when crossing the stream or climbing a few smaller rocks) At some point one bridge was closed for public due to damage, so we had to cross the stream by stepping on some rocks in the stream which went fairly easy. We parked close to the dam and really took our time to walk, and walked about 2,5 hours. If you don't have small kids and like a brisk walk I think you can do it in about one hour or so. De waterval is leuk om te zien, maar niet heel spectaculair. De omgeving er omheen maakt een hoop goed: een riviertje, robuuste wandelroutes en het Burcht van Reinhardstein (boven de waterval). In de omgeving is dus goed te wandelen. Stevige (wandel)schoenen zijn wel aan te raden. De paden zijn namelijk nogal "natuurlijk".

Geparkeerd bij "parking du barrage" en daar beginnen ook wat wandelingen. Via deze ingang kan je ook naar de waterval toelopen. Als je na de waterval doorloopt en daarmee meer omhoog gaat, kom je uiteindelijk bij het burcht uit.

Als je aan de andere kant van de stuwdam begint met lopen (dus niet bij "parking du barrage"), kom je hoogstwaarschijnlijk eerst bij...
