Apart from commemorating the centennial of the Bhutanese monarchy, it fulfills Guru Padmasambhava’s prophecy, which was written in Terma and revealed by Terton Dorji Lingpa after 672 years. Later in the twentieth century, renowned Terdak Lingpa from Singye Dzong East Bhutan sent a message to Yogi Sonam Zangpo, which unfortunately failed to deliver on time. A giant golden Buddha Statue sits at one of the mountains in Thimphu known as Kunzangphodrang. Its presence reflects the dominant religion in Bhutan.
