Came for the day to learn about the diversity of plants and animals in Panama. The set up of the museum was really cool to walk through. They have an area with screens on all sides and on the floor. That was cool. My favorite part was the area about connecting north and south america. They have a screen that shows what animals came south and went north. They also have an aquarium area.. one with pacific side and one with Caribbean side. That was also cool. The last part has a projector on the floor and when you step on certain symbols it lights up and gives you information. I have never seen that before and enjoyed the interaction. The staff was friendly and informative. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because it was really difficult to understand their operating hours. Online it says they are open till 3pm. However, after we rushed there to have enough time, we were told that the ticket booth is only open till 3, but the museum is open till 4. Just FYI for future visitors. Once done, there's a nature path with a small pond and nice plants as well as views to the canal.

If you're a fan of the architect Frank Gehry, you can't help but take a closer look at the striking, colourful building that is the Biomuseum. It is also his first project in Latin America. If you want to learn more about Panama, the history of the Panama Canal, the population, biodiversity and the country's efforts to protect the environment, the Biomuseum is well worth a visit. Admission is quite expensive ($18 for adults), but in my opinion it is well worth the price. The museum is very well designed: multimedial and interactive. After visiting the exhibits, be sure to visit the outdoor biodiversity park. When the museum is busy, you should escape the hustle and bustle. The park is a refreshing green oasis with a pond, a microcosm with many beautiful plants. If you're lucky, you can even see ships passing through the Panama Canal and under the beautiful Bridge of the Americas. For me, it was a Sunday well spent.

F. I really enjoyed this museum. Much is happening as far as remodeling and renovation but the plans look extremely promising. The guides were young, enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable. The audio tour was informative and interesting. I liked learning about the history and meaning of the building itself, a Frank Gehry original, is impressive to behold. My absolute favorite part was the theatre room. We walked into a dark room covered with massive projection screens on three sides and were instructed to sit on the floor. Once the projections began, it was impossible to keep your jaw shut. The experience was all encompassing down to the floor which was glass and contained another screen below. IT WAS SO COOL!! All and all, it deserves another visit once the expansion is finished. I look forward to returning in 2019!

I was pleasantly surprised by the staff: well informed staff members greet you personally in each room to give introductions (English or spanish) and are Able to give well informed answers, on top of that they are very welcoming. 4 stars as I expected a little bigger exabition...but It is still growing: two giant tanks for Atlantic and Pacific sealife with 6 meter high windows are ready to be populated, two more exhibits for education and hands on expirience under way. The building makes very much more sense for its interior than it seems, an audioguide (included in entrance fee!!!) Gives a good idea about that story. The most intriguing sculptures bring extinct animals to life and the display artisticly connects the continents and their biodiversity, nice approach. Good for all ages.
