I visited this zoo yesterday, and I was extremely disappointed and saddened by the state of the animals and the facilities. This used to be a place where animals were well cared for, but that has completely changed. The zoo was dirty, with old, poorly maintained equipment. The bears were in terrible condition, with one locked up and the other outside moving very slowly and breathing heavily, looking like it was in a bad state. The water for the bears was green and unclean. Many of the birds exhibited were missing a lot of their feathers, and a significant percentage of the animals had much smaller spaces than they needed. It was heartbreaking to see many of the carnivores clearly underfed — you could even see their ribs. One of the tigers had part of its tail cut, and I saw a pigeon with a broken leg. These animals deserve far better care. The zoo desperately needs renovation or, at the very least, proper attention to the animals' well-being. If things don’t change soon, it might be better for the zoo to be closed down entirely. As it stands, the conditions are unacceptable, and I hope to look into animal welfare services that could help address this.

The most of the animals are kept in insufficient conditions. Wolves have very small habitats, foxes are also cramped in the cage. Lions and tigers are just lying in the uncut grass, with almost no shade, trees, water... The worst are terrariums. Reptiles do not have needed lightning (UV, daylight, red light). White python had no water in the cage, chinchillas were in the cage which was smaller than the cages in pet shops. This Zoo shall decide if it wants to be a children's playground with few easy to maintain animals, like alpacas, water birds, antelopes, etc. or to have more animals but in better conditions. We have visited many ZOOs in Europe and this was the worst one. It cannot be compared to Beograd or Zagreb, not mentioning Prague, Vienna or Budapest. Our 11 year old son started to cry after he visited terrariums and kept speaking of it for the rest of the day.

An old and slightly tired looking zoo. Some of the enclosures for the animals are satisfactory however a few like the bears and the wolves from what I saw seem small and plain/basic. There are many signs saying not to touch the animals however the walkways go right up to the fence and when animals such as the goats and chickens come right up to you, it's hard to resist interacting with them, they're too cute! 🥺 There weren't many people around which was nice but we went in the middle of a school/work day, I assume it's busier at weekends. I also don't recall seeing any staff members besides the lady at the ticket booth and the gentleman in the cafe 🤷‍♀️

The ticketing woman is rude; seems prejudicial racist, and deals with visitors in arrogant and bad attitude unworthy of even thinking to enter! Dude, learn some primitive manners at minimum and go back to school to study how to keep tourist inside your door not outside! Ethicists like you are big obstacle for a nation to progress! Know that visitors at the door are probably way more cultural, educated, knowledgeable and disciplined than you are so raise yourself from your bottom up to their level instead of saying “I’m sick!”, which she did tell us with us having an infant and a 6 years old child forcing us to simply leave the place without entering just because we wanted to pay the remaining 2 BAM in Euro! What a disinhibited illiteracy to appoint at the door of such supposedly ‘family...
