The Ravlica Caves are not so well known in Bosnia-Herzegovina like the Bijambare or Vjetrenica, and that is quite undeserved. They are smaller, but not less spectacular. As a part of Adventure Park Pec Mlini, they have now become easier accessible and they are well worth a visit, a stop on your drive to or back from the coast. It is recommended to take the drive from Drinovci, as the road is pretty much better. Very helpful and knowledgeable guide will provide you with all necessary information.

Awesome cave, interesting entrance with all the wind flowing through. Great guides, and definitely worth a visit. Able to see some “human fish” in person that are unique to Central and Southeast Europe. I would visit again! This is the Vjetrenica cave NOT Ravlica. Vjetrenica is located near Ravno and Trebinje in Herzegovina. Google Maps is not letting me change the location!

Worth a visit.  It is modest with cave decorations, but therefore rich in history. Be sure to read the information about the cave at the entrance. The depth of the cave is 95 meters, and the height varies from 5 to 20 meters, while the width of the opening is 38 meters.  Research was conducted only on one part of the cave, where evidence was found of the existence of life in the younger stone age until the early bronze age. During the excavations, a large number of hearths, an altar, a structure that was probably used to hang pots over the fire and the remains of a millstone were found as evidence that the inhabitants were engaged in agriculture. Tools and weapons, jewelry, dishes, small statues were found also.  Hunting and animal husbandry were the main branches.  The development of life in the cave itself was favored by the geographical location, especially the proximity to water, as well as the possibility of going east and west, in today's directions, Imotski - Ljubuški, which was certainly a large hunting and gathering area. Also, a child's skeleton was found in the cave, which was not in any burial structure.  It is most likely the sacrifice of younger children for the purpose of protecting the settlement and inducing fertility, characteristic of the Mediterranean cult of the dead. Huge stone blocks that fell from the ceiling of the cave affected those who lived in the cave as well as those who wanted...
