Restoran “U matere” — Restaurant in Grude municipality

We had a wonderful meal at Restaurant U Matere after a day of hiking at Avanturistički park Peć Mlini. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was some of the best we've had in Bosnia. We ordered the beef goulash (beeftic), which was cooked to perfection. The meat was so tender and flavorful, and the sauce was rich and delicious. We also tried the coffee and dessert, which were both excellent.

The restaurant is located near the entrance to the park, so it's a great place to stop for lunch or dinner after a day of exploring. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are large.

Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area!

I went here on a Sunday family lunch (5 people). I really don’t understand what the problem was with staff but having us wait 1h and 30mins to be served our meals is absolutely ridiculous to the point where one of my family members’ meals was served 2 hours after they ordered and I find that completely unacceptable. We were informed that “some of our orders are not available” which just adds up to the complete waste of time this all was. After all that you’d expect the food to be divine, however, it was nothing out of the ordinary considering we were simply just sick of sitting there waiting, not getting what we hoped to order and wanted to go home. One of most pleasant surprises in Hercegovina. The restaurant has a clean and inviting atmosphere. Went for lunch with 9 people and the service was amazing. Had delicious food. Ordered frogs, mixed meats and steaks. European steaks normally can’t compare to American ones but these were nicely grilled and tender. Really good cut of meat.
