I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Neretva Kayak Safari, and I have to say it was an absolutely incredible adventure. From start to finish, the trip was filled with excitement, breathtaking scenery, and amazing experiences.
The safari takes place in Jablanica, Herzegovina, in the beautiful Neretva River. The river itself is stunning, with crystal-clear water that reflects the surrounding mountains and trees.
The kayaking itself was thrilling, with plenty of twists and turns in the river to keep things interesting. The kayaks provided were top-notch, with comfortable seats and easy-to-use paddles.
The scenery throughout the trip was simply breathtaking. We passed by towering cliffs, lush forests, and picturesque villages, each with its own unique character and charm.
Haris was not only knowledgeable and skilled, but also incredibly kind and generous. Throughout the trip, he went out of their way to ensure that everyone was comfortable and having a great time. He was always happy to answer questions and share their knowledge of the area, and they never hesitated to help anyone who needed it. Additionally, He even offered to take photos of us so that we could have memories of the experience. His kindness and generosity truly made the trip even more special, and I am grateful for their hospitality.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Neretva Kayak Safari to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure in Herzegovina. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget. Five out of five stars, no...
Read moreI booked a kayaking trip for myself and my teenage daughter through Viator, one day in advance. The location was easy to reach, and they had convenient parking available.
The staff members were incredibly friendly, with a great energy and a lot of respect. They provided excellent quality equipment, including kayaks, paddles, life jackets, and waterproof bags. One of the team members, usually Haris the owner, would guide us along the trail, which was impossible to get lost on. They pointed out all the highlights, making the 6km trail an amazing experience. Keep in mind that it's a decent distance, so having some upper body strength and taking breaks at a steady pace is important. Remember, the stunning views are what you're there to enjoy!
Factor a minimum of four hours for total trip time
If you prefer a shorter kayaking distance, just message the guys via Google chat. They are very accommodating and will gladly recommend a less challenging trail. It's in their Bosnian nature to help.
At the end of the trail, there's a breathtaking beach. Personally, I think river beaches surpass sea beaches any day. The greenery along the beach and water is lovely. Pack a picnic towel, some food, and make a day out of it.
Make sure to bring a large bottle of water for each person and some high-calorie snacks. Apply plenty of sunscreen as well. Trust me, even if you have a darker complexion like mine, you'll need...
Read moreThis place is no doubt beautiful but im amazed nobody is mentioning how dangerous it can become. Three of us were put on a kayak and sent on our way. we knew it was a 3 hour trip up and down. No safety briefing or guide just a canoe and see you in 3 hours. One of our canoe rolled over half way through and he could not get up, we managed to tow him to one side and get him back on the canoe. Without any support you would absolutely struggle. We were the only ones on the river at the time. The river is wide and the water is freezing.
On the way back i managed to roll over and lose my phone. had i been alone and lost my phone i would not have been able to get back on the canoe or call for help.
The River from the road looks amazing but on the canoe its full of plastic and rubbish. The beach at the end is not swimmable, stagnant water full of rubbish and algae.
I would definitely advice against taking children and going alone.
The guys were very nice and we did not have to prebook. My only advice to the guys would be many to have a safety briefing and have someone monitor people who are out...
