Would not recommend. The place looks nice and clean, staff friendly, service ok, view of the lake. Their local specialty of which they are so proud, lamb on a spit, was more on the side of a sheep rather than a lamb. You can tell that it was not that young. It was well cooked. To my taste it was pretty blunt, could have been more seasoned. Roasted potatoes on the other hand very good. Mixed salad very roughly and carelessly chopped (like with the machette) with no seasoning whatsoever. I am aware that their main product is meat (which was not so great afterall, more on the average side, chicken kebab my daughter ordered was undercooked and chewy...), but they could put some more effort on the rest of their menu and presentation. Main complaint: - We were asked specifically if we would like some bread with our lamb, which we declined. Sadly, only to find out at the end that they billed us 1 Euro for the bread that we did not have! I have pointed it out to them while leaving and said it was ok..., they were pretty much ok with it :). Not even an apology! Sort of "yes we know but we don't care" reaction. All things considered, average experience for these parts of Bosnia, noting special. Would have given them a star or two more if they haven't charged us for the things we...

I have been in this restaurant 7 years ago and came back for the experience and especially the view. While we were walking to our table, we reached the few stairs with my son of 5 years old. Because of his age he obviously can not walk very fast down the stairs. While walking down a waitress yelled so hard to us: MOVEEEE MOVEEE. Not in a calm way, but like we were dogs. You don’t even yell to a dog like that! I was in a shock state. I could not believe that someone could be this rude.

After sitting at the table I wanted to talk to her. So I walked to her and she turned her back. Her co worker wanted to help, but I said I wanted to talk to this woman. I explained in a very calm and respectfull way that she can not yell like that to me. That a child cant walk down a staircase very fast. She apogolised, just to end the conversation. I will never ever come back here. I don’t pay to be insulted. If service is important to you, go somewhere else. There are a lot more options than this restaurant with good food and...

Along this stretch of road there are half a dozen similar restaurants all offering roast lamb. Our driver, who regularly takes this route, said that without any doubt Restoran Kovacevic was the best. On his recommendation we pulled in to sample their lamb.

The aroma of the lambs slowly rotating on the water wheel driven spits was enough to drive you mad with hunger.

I recommend that if you can get a table overlooking the river - the views are amazing.

When our dish arrived, I can see why everyone tells you that you have to try a Jablanica lamb roast. They do have other dishes on the menu, but the lamb is the star. Despite the number of patrons our lamb arrived fairly promptly, and it was succulent, hot, and delicious. The roast potatoes were crispy on the outside (having been cooked in the lamb fat) and fluffy on the inside. The salad was average but that wasn't what I came here to eat. A cold bottle of beer was the perfect accompaniment.

I can see why so many locals stop here - the roast...

Kovačević Restaurant was one of the most delightful stops on our trip through Bosnia and Herzegovina. We were lucky to get a table by the window, and the view was absolutely stunning — but what made the experience even more special was the food, which was just as impressive as the scenery. The lamb, oven-roasted potatoes, and desserts were all delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. Unlike many touristy spots in the region, where service can be indifferent, the staff here were attentive, friendly, and professional. We had no issues with parking, which was a big plus. The interior design of the restaurant is tasteful and comfortable, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We enjoyed our meal so much that we made a second visit on our way back — simply because it was that good. While some places in Bosnia seem to have inflated ratings, Kovačević truly deserves every star it gets. Great food, welcoming service, and a beautiful setting — highly recommended.
