Mixed experience - let me explain 5* experience for: interior design, views from the restaurant, food quality were all great! Wine was tasty as well
Downsides (explaining the score): One menu given was in English, one in Serbian even though we're both English speakers, no drinks menu given at all Wine selection: when asked for recommendations, both times (for white & red) the most expensive glass was pointed out and no explanation could be given on differences between tastes of listed wines. Would expect more from winery restaurant... Same for water, most expensive was brought without giving menu or explaining the options Food started coming before we finished starter, cutlery was just placed in a plate of started we decided to share Got quite scared when suddenly an arm of a waiter appeared from behind me to grab a bottle from the table without any warning Smoking in common area, no separation for non-smokers - not a pleasant experience when you come with pregnant wife as you can imagine
I think it could easily be a great place and experience with some adjustments. But compared to other fine dining places we visited - during the visit here we wanted to quickly finish the meals and leave. Bill was around 65 EUR for 2 people, with shared started, main courses and 2...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStarted coming at the restaurant in 2012, when the place was top spot. Would drive from Montenegro with my friends just to enjoy great wines and rakija, also the house specialty - sliced steak with baked potatoes and veggies in home made acceto (at the time was 25 KM, but over the course of few years it would almost double the price, cutting out vegetables from the dish). Since I was coming every year a few times, I could observe clear deterioration of the quality of food and service as well, with prices increasing significantly (which is common in our Balkan people mentality, greed for more profit overcomes even the best resraurant owners). Last time I ate there, in 2022, I got food poisoning...doubt that I will ever sit there again. If you enjoy good wines and grape spirits, you may come in and purchase for the takeaway, the prices are still reasonable, but you will find better quality to price ratio in Andjelic wine cellar. It's a shame, because the place used to be run in a highly professional manner and the quality was there, I really enjoyed myself some 8-10 years ago. Nowadays all of Trebinje is higly commercialized, the prices often do not equal the quality offered, from restaurants to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisit to this place waa a planned trip for me and I went out of my way to spend the night in trebinje. The place has a nice atmosphere, a bit better at night because you cannot ses the place surrounding the restaurant. I was a solo traveller and reserved the table. The place is not that big actually, and because of wind the terrace was not working for eating..just to hang out. I drink Vukoje on a regular basis so I knew about the wine quality, allthough the wine is top notch..the per glass prices are too much. It is Vukoje restaurant, it should be more modest in pricing because they serve only their wine. The food was good! I had the pork medallions and squash potage and couple of glasses of wine. The " greetings from the chef" as they call it and big bucket of bread is ridiculous! I mean i paid for it ofcourse allthough I had half of the pate and two slices of bread. This is a bad service from my point of view. Either state what it is or don't bring it. So this actually puts a bad aftertaste on the evening. At the end I decided not to buy some bottles of wine that I was planning. I was a solo traveller and spent around 50ā¬. Prices are a bit higher but this was and will be a...
