It’s pretty wonderful yes! Watched the sunrise at the top and it’s every bit as awesome and beautiful as it looks. I would rate Telegraph as the #2 best hiking experience & view in Rio behind climbing Da Gavea. We stayed in a hotel near the bottom and started the hike at 430am. Took little over an hour to reach the top and we were the first ones there. The hike itself is work no doubt. You’re pretty much walking uphill the entire time. Walk down took about 35min. We didn’t have a headlight or anything just used the lights on our cell phones and it was fine. The mosquitos were absolutely terrible! Worst I saw anywhere in Rio in the 6 weeks of exploring the state. We pretty much jogged down because if we stopped even for a few seconds we got destroyed. Bring repellent if you can. Luckily at the top they weren’t a problem. Overall Telegraph is an incredible view and 100% recommend catching the sunrise if you’re able. Truly is some epic epic stuff...
Read moreWriting this so no one ends up like us again. Its not as easy as you think, firstly look up how to get there because there are no signs in the woods and you wont just "know" where to go, we have been lost 2 times and what should have been only 40 min hike turned into 2 hours of hiking on much harderd field. MOSQUITOES!!!!!!! I don't know if its because it was cloudy and humid that day but I never had more mosquitoes bites in my life, there is so many of them so be prepared with the clothes and repellent. Moto taxi 15 BRL that takes you up to the beginning of the trail. Also when you go back, if its almost before dark around 5pm, you will hardly find uber, taxi or bus, because its small place and not so close to Rio, schedule taxi in advance for the way back and you will be good. Otherwise nature and views are beautiful , it was cloudy and started raining after so we didn't experience it when its sunny day, which I think its...
Read moreThis is hands downs one of the best things to do in Rio. It’s a bit far, but 100% worth it. You can get there using Uber. The 40-50 min hike up the mountain is pretty advanced and requires a standard physical condition. People with knee, feet, back or other conditions would have a hard time hiking it.
The way to the top is amazing, you have trails through the jungle and the views are beautiful.
Once you reach the Pedra do Telégrafo it is mesmerizing. The view is like nothing else. The pictures are amazing and it’s fun taking all kinds of pictures on the Pedra of Telégrafo.
When my friends and I went there wasn’t that many people at the top. We were able to take as many pictures as we wanted and didn’t have to wait much time.
There is a profesional photographer at the top that offers you pictures, about 10 reales for three pics or 1 for 3 reales.
If you go to Rio and are looking for an adventure, this...
