There seems to be a slight misunderstanding. While Pelé is synonymous with Santos, São Paulo, there isn't a dedicated "Museu do Pelé" located specifically in the city of São Paulo. Why the confusion? Santos Connection: Pelé is deeply associated with the city of Santos, where he began his illustrious career with Santos Futebol Clube. The majority of his life and career is intertwined with this coastal city. Focus on Santos: The primary museum dedicated to Pelé's life and career is located in Santos, not São Paulo. The Museu Pelé in Santos If you're looking to delve into Pelé's world and explore his incredible journey, the Museu Pelé in Santos is the place to go. Housed in beautifully restored historic buildings, the museum offers a comprehensive look at Pelé's life, both on and off the field. What can you expect at the Museu Pelé? Personal Artifacts: From his iconic jerseys to the boots he wore in legendary matches, the museum houses a vast collection of personal belongings that offer a glimpse into Pelé's life. Interactive Exhibits: The museum uses interactive displays, videos, and audio recordings to bring Pelé's story to life. Historical Context: The museum provides a historical context for Pelé's career, exploring the social and political climate of Brazil during his playing days. Global Impact: Visitors can learn about Pelé's impact on the global game of football and his status as a cultural icon. Is there a Pelé-related exhibit in São Paulo? While there isn't a dedicated museum, it's possible that larger sports museums or football-themed exhibits in São Paulo might feature sections or exhibits related to Pelé. The Museu do Futebol in São Paulo, for instance, is a comprehensive museum dedicated to the history of Brazilian football and would likely have exhibits or mentions of Pelé. To get the most accurate and up-to-date information, I recommend checking the following: Santos Tourism Website: This is the most reliable source for information about the Museu Pelé, including hours, ticket prices, and special exhibits. São Paulo Tourism Website: You might find information about smaller exhibits or temporary displays related to Pelé in various museums or cultural centers in São Paulo. Google Maps: A quick search for "Museu Pelé" or "Pelé museum" can help you find the exact location and any...

Museu Pelé in Santos is the kind of place that pulls you in even if you are not a hardcore football fan. Set inside a beautifully restored 19th-century mansion in the city’s historic district, it feels less like a static museum and more like stepping into Pelé’s life story.

The collection is impressive—jerseys, boots, trophies, rare photographs, even a replica of the Jules Rimet trophy. But it is not just about objects; the way they are displayed tells a narrative. Interactive screens let you dive into moments from Pelé’s career, and there are videos that show not just the goals but the context—the struggles, the training, and the joy behind them.

The space itself is bright, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. There is enough to keep you engaged for a couple of hours without it feeling overwhelming. I appreciated how the exhibits balance football history with Pelé’s personal journey, showing how his early years in Santos shaped the player and person he became.

One note: the museum is in an older part of the city that can feel a bit run-down, so it is best to visit during the day. Once inside, though, you are in a completely different world—one filled with energy, pride, and the legacy of one of the greatest athletes in history.

Whether you grew up watching Pelé or only know his name from stories, this museum gives you a deeper connection to the man...

Unfortunately, due to the unpleasant experience of Pele's death, I had the opportunity to visit the place once again. 4-storey exhibition on the achievements of the King of Football, Pelé. Filled with a variety of items belonging to him, from trophies to personal belongings such as shoes, hats or scarfs. A must-see for all lovers of football and Pelé during their stay in Santos.

I almost forgot, everything is available in Portuguese, Spanish and English!

It is definitely a very interesting place associated with one of the greatest football personalities. Unfortunately, it is often closed, so it is worth checking first on the website whether it will be possible to see it on a chosen day. Another must-see...

Absolutely loved the experience. The museum fee is zero. There is a souvenir shop at the entrance/exit to the museum and a nice place to have snacks as well. The museum houses a life size wax statue of Pele, along with his medals, trophies and various other things from his childhood and his journey through life. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Santos. Extra info: The tickets for the tour tram are also available inside the museum premises only.
