Farol de Santa Marta — Attraction in Região Geográfica Imediata de Tubarão

An antique lighthouse that long ago functioned with whale oil.

Beautiful and well-maintained, with bright white paint. The reason I only gave 4 stars was due to faulty directions, Google deposited us next to a cemetery. A couple of locals told us we could get to the lighthouse from there, and we found a section of fence missing and a small footpath twisting among cactus and tall grasses and weeds. Once we arrived at the lighthouse we pivoted and saw a sign behind us warning that venomous snakes were in that area. The area we had just crossed. Now we had a snake-infested field between us and 12-yr-old and our car. We couldn't shout a warning to our kid because of the wind and waves, but fortunately he didn't try to follow us.

Anyway, I'm going to try to suggest a different route, but if you end up next to a cemetery, don't walk through the plants to get to...

Spectacular view from the top of the hill where the lighthouse sits. You have to park your car on the street and walk up a trail to the top of the hill , but it’s and extremely easy walk without too much inclination. It was summer when we went, so flowers were blooming and butterflies where hovering all around. This is a fascinating location for birdwatchers given the variety of birds flying around the trail. Once at the top of the hill and facing north, there’s is a stunning view of an old cemetery overlooking the ocean and a sand dune covered beach. Facing west, you are directly about the beach and town of Santa Marta. And East, is obviously an open view of the ocean crashing upon rocks. Bom dia Sou militar reformado, fui com a família a laguna, especificamente ao farol de santa marta. Tentei por diversas vezes saber sobre os dias e horários de entrada e subida no farol. Nenhuma resposta. Infelizmente o farol está com um comandante muito fraco...frouxo e sua tropa extremamente indisciplinada. Como me hospedei na frente do portão de entrada para a área do farol. Abordei vários veículos dos integrantes do grupo militar adentrando ou saindo no portão de acesso. Observei muitos adentrando com mulheres em diversos horários inclusive a noite. O estarrecidos é ver esses mesmos muitas vezes não conseguirem descer dos próprios veículos e mais vergonhoso é não conseguirem colocar a chave no cadeado para abrir um mísero pedaço de cabo de aço que serve de cancela a frente do portão de tão BEBADOS que chegam. Vergonha nacional. Outra conduta deles é a falta de educação. Sera que o meio militar esta ensinando a ser mal educado? Na minha época todo cidadão que se dirigise a nós era prontamente ouvido e de forma educada respondido ou orientado. Abordei uma HRV bordob ao parar para abrir a cancela e adentrar no portão 04 tripulantes na maior algazarra ouvindo funk. So faltou um baseado.... A Marinha assim como o exército e aeronáutica estão em decadência total. Infelizmente e com tristeza sou obrigado a admitir que as forças armadas só servem para brincar de guerra e para carpi e pintar. A mão forte da sociedade era de madeira e o cupim comeu(EB) o da Marinha era de Ferro a maresia correu e a FAB avões de papel a chuva derreteu. E lamentável.
